Not too many in the business will see it that way either, especially other GMs and football players that want to win now. Fans have no clue what fair value is in trades at any given time. Just opinions based on what they read.

Based on other comps, how can you say that moving from 13 to 15 and giving up a near-certain #1 pick in 2024 is fair ?

Did you see how Wilson worked out for Denver ?

What if Rogers doesn't jell..we lose a bunch of close games....and the pick is Top 10 ? Top 5 ?

What if we go to the playoff first time in how many years? What if he plays 2-3 years at a high level. We got far and away the best QB available for a potential first next year, we kept all our core picks this year, and we moved up as arguable the 4 best team in the AFC with a chance to challenge them. People here shit all over JD for the Zack pick on one hand, but they make it look like the first in 2024 would have yielded the rookie QB of our dreams. We don’t even know if and when that pick will be.
And we are yet to see how the AR contract get re structured. So we don’t have the complete picture as a minimum.

Oh bullshit. There are plenty of educated fans that know their shit and know when they got fucked.

    I hate that argument.

"Well, you're not a GM, so you don't know what your talking about."

When plenty of fans over the years have been right instead of the dumb decisions that were being made by some of the dumbest GMs ever to grace the NFL.

It's silly to discredit an entire fan base simply because they aren't on an NFL teams payroll. Lazy argument.

100% it obviously was JD mortgaging the future to save his job.
So tired of the excuse making for JD. Always someone else’s fault.
These trade terms reek of desperation, and BG successfully capitalizing on that with a straight up fleecing.

It’s not like there isn’t comparable precedent to look at when evaluating trade comp.

The only BS is to presume that some fans with zero know how can exercise a trade. No one is discrediting the whole fan base because most of the negativity does not represent the whole fan base. Go read what other GMs and people in the business are saying right know with ranges similar even higher. Utter overreaction by the same bunch as usual.

I don't understand what some Jets fans are so gleeful about. The Jets had competition from no-one and no-one for this flake turd. Why not sweat out Green Bay until the last minute? The worst that could've happened was a better deal, the best that could've happened was if the Jets walked away at zero hour and we all got to watch Lazard waving goodbye to Rogers from the team bus like he was on his way to Sing-Sing. That would've been dope as the kids say.

Not getting to the playoffs is not Douglas's job. He has drafted well and given coaches enough to get to the playoffs. He didn't hire LeFleur which is on Salah. Zach was the obvious choice because the Darnold era had run its course. Salah's seat is the hottest right now. Enough with his little motivational quotes. This team needs some wins.

I'm with you on that. They gave up a lot for a 40 year old QB. I hope the offensive lineman is there at @15. Otherwise, Rodgers is going to be running around like Mike White and Zach.

So you think that if the majority of scouts, GMs, and talking heads think It's a good thing, then It must be a good thing?

How'd that theory work out with, Zach Wilson?

Talking heads all thought he was the second best QB with immense talent, blah, blah, blah..

Mock Drafts all raved about how amazing Zach Wilson Is, a sure bet for the NYJ!

They did a fucking poll unanimously with each team where the overwhelming majority all said Zach Wilson would be their QB taken after Lawrence...

.. and, yet, here we are. Giving up a shit load of draft capital for a 40 year FORMER MVP.

    Good times.

Maybe a little of the luster has been diminished from our Superstar G.M. But, you still have to give him credit, Aaron Rodgers was the target since the final snap of the '22 season. Through endless hurdles, darkness retreats, free agent signings, a new O.C, weeks of haggling, Joe Douglas got his man. Aaron Rodgers is a Jet.

I thought the media had reported that JD and Saleh actually wanted Carr, but it was Johnson who was all in to get Rodgers.

I think the FO is confused about who should take credit or who should be vilified, and there's a better case for the latter. They're most likely going to stay middle of the road about who actually did it and ran, because it is just like leaving the scene of an accident, come to think of it. If Woody chest thumps throw a banana at him, I guess.

I think if we get 2-3 quality years of AR its worth it

If it winds up being just 1, it's a bad deal

More like Grade A moron, only Gm ever to bid against himself on a player no team, even his own team didn't want. Who gives up a 1st and 2nd when no other team hasn't even offered a 7th round pick. And who brings in a 40 year old immobile quarterback when you still haven't fixed your offensive line for the 4th offseason in a row.
