The LV shooter was apparently on a long losing streak with net worth down to about 350k. He apparently thought the casinos had downgraded him and he was looking at the end of a lifestyle he had cultivated since his 30's.

Most mass shooters act out of grievance against a system they feel has betrayed them. They make everybody else pay for their grievances.

I don't know, the mass shooting thing, it does pretty much seem endemic to America and mass shootings elsewhere seems more like an anomaly. Why? Hard to say, but religious nuts, also endemic to America. I've thought really hard on this, about what exactly made this country a breeding ground for conmen and the mentally ill when it comes to religion and it's the same kind of head scratcher. No, that's wrong, it's not the same kind of headscratcher. What I meant was that it causes the same level of headscratching. Oh, and I don't have lice.

How can you say religious nuts are endemic to America when we have an entire region that controls most of the worlds oil supply governed by religion?

Additionally, most South Americans and a lot of African countries have pretty deep religious ties, along with Russia and India. Europe and America and to a lesser extent China/Japan are the only areas moving heavily away from religion.

My apologies, I should have clarified. I'm talking mostly about the 1820s to the 1870s, And then of course, now, today there's a new cult that some jackass drums up and people follow every other minute. It is shockingly easy to create your own religion and get tax exempt status, and we all know established religions that aren't considered cults at all (lol, they all are) work the system inside out.

There was a combination of PT Barnum's famous quote that there's a sucker born every minute along with megalomaniacs who believed their own line of shit in that time frame most especially. The Mormon Church is one of the biggest scams in American history, right up there with good old Scientology.

The FACTS about Mormonism is that it was a laughable con that now owns 1/3 of the United States. Just so you know that when you die you're gonna go before Joseph Smith, Jesus, and God. LMAO. If anyone on here is a practicing Mormon I apologize that I don't apologize. Jehovah's Witnesses, another hot one.

Korea is huge on the cult front but guess where they land? The good ole U.S. The World Mission Society Church of God is a big one, second only to Moon, who owns so much of the U.S., it's insane. So WMSCG, some turd thinks he's Christ and his trained indoctrinated brainwashed monkeys believe him. The reality is, this guy doesn't believe he's Christ, he just sells it. They're very dangerous, they almost got my friend's daughter and it was panic time because she's not a minor.

They have a huge enclave fairly close to where I live and they're creepy as shit. They work in pairs. They have a very richly dressed knockout gorgeous beautiful woman dressed in cream colored neutrals (designer clothing, professionally applied make up) with a plain Jane dressed like a nun standing behind her. They hand out cards and try to assess which attributes are more desirable to you and work their angle from there. They tried to corner me in Hannaford once. It's very funny how that went, but I digress.

It never ceases to amaze me the shit people are willing to believe because they're looking for something. And, the orchestrators of such things know exactly how to prey on the weak and the vulnerable and separate them from their money, their identity, and everything else.

That's what I meant when I said an endemic breeding ground. It's always been interesting to me that you had The Founding Fathers, with a good portion of them being Deists, and then you had the marginal and not so marginal nuts. I grapple to understand what it is about our cultural identity that made - and still makes - so many people roll that way. If someone told me that they were God and they talked to God or whatever the fck they're gonna say I don't think it's hard to discern what my reaction would be.

I don’t even know what you’re talking about other than a massive anti-religious rant. There’s an estimated under 7 million US citizens in the LDS church with 340 million estimated in US population. How is that 1/3rd?

I’m not religious in the slightest but you just called all religions cults, no? Pretty insulting to be honest and I know we have religious members here.

I thought I explained it pretty well. My numbers may be off but but they are the 5th largest landowner in the US off a con and a petty criminal. People can likewise insult me all they want about my non-belief but it doesn't mean that much to me. Just because something's old doesn't mean it demands respect just because. I always felt that when people get rabid about that stuff and demand apologies blah blah it's because there's a chink in the armor, but whatever, to each their own.

I'm not trying to derail, I just made an observation that's really all there is to it. Back to America's fascination with guns and killing innocent people.

Nah that’s not true. And your numbers are off? You said they owned a third of the US…

What's else is not true? I did say say my numbers may be off but I'm not nyjunc and I'm not a cap or a stat guy, so you're not hurting my feelings. They own a shit ton of land in the US and overseas that much is true, including a ton of acreage in FL. They're not not paupers, for Pete's sake, and that's putting it lightly. My general sentiments are in regard to everything I said are unaltered.

So, are you ready to get back to America's fascination with guns and the killing of innocent people or what? o_O
