What do you think/hope the final package for Rodgers will be?

Let’s put some proposals out there and create a poll. (I’ll put “it all falls apart” as an option in the poll so let’s stick to proposals here)

I don't think it's possible it gets done without them giving up a first

My gut feeling is it doesn’t happen and Rodgers never plays for the Jets.

This would be the most Jets thing ever ... roll out Wilson and Woody's nephew to be the backup

Just curious...how do you think Zack is handling this AR stuff? Is he OK with Aaron coming in, and Zack learning? Or do you think Zack is kinda pissed, and wants to start?

2 this year, maybe a conditional 2 next year with an esclator but only if AR plays two years. Otherwise, 2 and they keep the 2 for next year. Jets eat the majority of salary w/ pack maybe picking up 15-20% of salary.

    44 + 2024 1st + Restructured CD

    for

    DB + AR

*We don’t know what the Jets have offered but the same package as Favre is a pretty fair guess.

If the Packers want a pick this year, they need to budge. How bad do they want 44?

What if AR is non-committal until after the 2024 draft?

It think it’s well reported that AR is his hero. If I was given the opportunity to reboot under my hero’s tutelage I’d be pretty optimistic and excited.

I am assuming you mean #43, second in order of our 2nd round picks, and we keep #42 from the Browns. Pretty bold prediction of Bakhtiari coming here. I would like David to be here, but not sure how it will get done. GB just restructured him and paid him a huge bonus already this year: https://www.packersnews.com/story/s...ct-to-open-more-salary-cap-space/69995237007/ To me, David is not a part of it at all.

I have come to terms that we will likely give up a second this year, which is easier to stomach, since we got one in a trade up for Moore. My thinking now is it will #43 and a 3d next year. I don't think there will be a condition to return of 2025 pick from GB, and I don't think it will be first next year to GB either, even conditional if we do well. I can also see a throw in, such as Davis (if we sign Odell) or some later round pick, but the main assets will be #43 and a 3d next year.

I'll give up a 1st round pick for a SB ring.

Jets 2nd rounder 2023 + a 2024 pick (round 4+) that could be higher based on performance.

I can see us landing Rodgers in August, everyone celebrating that we finally got him and that we didn't give up too many picks, and him sucking during the season because we waited too long and messed up the offseason program.

    • 2023 2d & Davis. 2024 3d. A late round pick comes back to Jets in 1 or both drafts.

    GB gets:
    Pick 13
    Corey Davis
    2024 3rd round pick with escalators (2nd = 2023 playoffs, 1st = SB LVIII appearance)

    NYJ gets:
    Aaron Rodgers
    Pick 45
    Pick 116

Jets fans lose their minds because there is no insurance pick for a second season.

It really does not matter if the Jets get AR. Zach Wilson is not starting in 2023 for the Jets.

So would I. So would every fan if you ask him before the season. Yet, every year a team wins a SB, and they don't necessarily lose the 1st rounder because they happen to win the SB. The point is, I believe it is unnecessary to put 1st round pick on the line in this instance. So, I don't believe it will be a conditional 1st rounder. I don't think there will be any conditions. I think most likely it will be a straight up trade. 2025 pick from GB with Rodgers playing condition will be dropped, and 2024 Jets pick will be a dedicated pick with no conditions, and it won't be a 1st rounder - I suspect it will be 3d.

    Yes, 45, my bad.

There is a lot of dead money this year if he’s traded but Bakhtiari has a $40mm cap hit next year bc he refused to give them void years so there’s that.

If GB wants a guaranteed 1st in 2024 and doesn’t want to deal with AR retirement drama next year about a giveback they’ll need to give something on their end. They seem to be preparing their fans for a down year so I feel they’d value draft capital over their aging LT…. Maybe some pick swaps would even it out.

This is similar to what I've been advocating.

Jets give up the #43 this year; next year a 4th or 3rd maybe, with an escalator based on how far Rodgers takes them. It's also possible that the Jets give them C. Davis in return for a 3rd or 4th if the Jets sign OBJ so they can clear some CAP space.
