He is still not signed and apparently he is not looking for 20 mil per year either. His latest tweet is below. Considering Corey Davis might be cut and we will keep G.Wilson, E.Moore and A.Lazard, do we still want OBJ? Some might say it depends on money but I am sure if Jets sign him, it will be a reasonable deal. That said, please only think about the football aspect when you vote.
Let first vote be from me. I am sure OBJ will give Jets a discount since he wants to play with Rodgers. And OBJ even at 75% is still very good. Having him and G.Wilson will open things up for Lazard and E.Moore and this offense won't be stoppable if OL holds up. Jets with OBJ is better than Jets without OBJ.
Having him on the Rams was the key to Cooper Kupp’s monster season and the Super Bowl run. The defense always needs to take him into account which opens up the other receivers. At the right price the Jets should sign him.
Speaking of Rams, if he becomes available should we make a run at Donald? Can you imagine, SI had an article about how it would make sense for the Rams. If we are going all in then why not, him next to Q...
Exactly my point. With OBJ, defense won't be able to double team G.Wilson and OBJ at the same time. With Lazard and E.Moore also on the filed, Rodgers will find the right guy each time.
Rather trade for and edge rusher. We already have Q at DT. If Donald comes cheap I am all for it but don't want to spend big bucks on him.
I voted yes to get him. Only if cheap. If he plays at 75% he will draw coverage. Keep him in a box between games... Probably will quit during a game halfway through season after tearing his jersey off...seems the way to go out with divas.
Our D is better than our O. Keep beefing up both but heavier on the O. Offer OBJ what Berrios got for one year.
Would think OBJ is looking for a 1 yr prove it type deal. Which will lead to him wanting and needing to put up #1 WR stats… we all know what happens when things dont go his way. Im not for anything that is going to stunt GWs development or chemistry amongst AR and the WRs
No. We had receivers sniveling that they weren’t getting the ball enough last season, can you imagine how much louder that gets with a me-first diva demanding the ball every play? And if he himself isn’t getting the ball enough (in his mind)?? Forget it! Beef up the o-line and run with what we have!
Why not if it comes at decent price? If he has anything left it will surely be a bonus. OBJ and Wilson will work together perfectly.
Absolutely not. He'll be a problem in the locker room the moment the QB sails one over his head or doesn't get him the ball for stretches during the game. Couple that with his two ACL injuries, and there's just no reason to roll the dice on this when we have playmakers currently on the roster. The WR receiver room already did enough talking last year between the various trade demands, Wilson's body language on the field at times, etc. The last thing they need is to have OBJ there to show them how to really make some noise.
Not to mention, if you are getting kicked off a plane drunk, you probably have a significant substance abuse issue.
I don't want an influx of short-term mercenary-type signings. I was enjoying the patient and effective rebuild that JD was putting together. A sudden panic to speed it up will end in disappointment. I'm okay with getting Rodgers - I would have preferred a long-term solution like Carr, but I can see that we cannot wheel out Zach next year and Rodgers gives us a chance to evaluate Zach for another year and maybe let him step back in at some point. So having Rodgers is way better than Zach or another rookie. But lots of other short-term, ageing vets coming in? No thanks.
