not interested whatsoever if his price tag is the actual $15-$20 million per year that is rumored. He’s 31 coming off of two ACL tears… He’s a guy you give a one year prove it deal to and hope for the best, not someone you lock up multi year for big dollars.
depends on the price but I’m not giving up a whole lot for a guy who has given up 20 sacks in two years and his former team just paid a boatload of money for someone else to replace him.
Serious question, when was the last time we had a 6’5” receiver that we already know is a high caliber NFL player? I don’t have to remind everyone of the Stephen Hill experiment but other than that I don’t even remember us trying. Chaz Schillens? There has to be someone I’m forgetting. Either way it’s nice to finally be one of those teams that has a stud receiver and a big bodied deep threat. Been watching from the sidelines for the better part of two decades.
I wasn’t counting him because he was more of an all-around freak who happened to be 6’5” and was on the back end of his career but yeah technically he would qualify.
Didn't Jonah Williams give up more sacks than anybody else in the league? He's been a injury worry as well.
Bills just released WR Isaiah McKenzie. He'd be pretty inexpensive as a WR4/5 and a return specialist. If they don't sign Cobb, he could be a good fit. Our turn to take a free agent from an AFCE team
Are there any solid starting-caliber OL out there that we could target? The Bengals dude I guess but he doesn't sound too exciting
Unfortunately our draft picks are probably unavailable right now while we dicker over a certain other rumored trade
Thunder and Lightning: Ezekiel Elliott & Breece Hall oh wait, they are pissing away all the money on a 40 year old QB oh well
He's 28. Most great RB's have one season left in them at that point. Sometimes they beat Father Time for a season or two, particularly if they didn't take a ton of carries early in their career.
Did you watch him play last year A) he has very little in the tank and B) he took a ton of tough carries in his early carrier. Why doi we want that? ywet you make the opposite argument for a QB that is a year removed from two freaking MVPs.
My argument wasn't for Elliot. It was against Elliot given what we'd likely get from him. I guess other people think getting a year out of a player before he declines is a good acquisition. I think it is a bankrupt policy that the Jets have followed too often and it is one of the key pillars of the Jets lack of success over the years. Ronnie Lott my ass.
So we keep replacing our depth with depth but still haven't added a starter at a position where we needed two starters.
Yup. We haven't brought in anyone which means we're banking on the draft plus Becton/Brown/Mitchell all lasting a season... which none of them did last year. No one else on the market provides any kind of upgrade there. McGovern is the best option at C and we needed an upgrade there already (although I don't think he's as bad as a lot of people say he is).
