“A guy like Marcedes Lewis, he’s an important cog in the wheel of the locker room and the momentum of the team,” Rodgers said. “That’s a guy I want to finish my career with. If I’m playing, I want that guy next to me. I want the Randall Cobbs of the world -- if he wants to keep playing -- in my locker room. Guys you can win it with. Allen Lazard, Bobby Tonyan..." I’m getting a damn headache over this. I’m actually glad I have to go to work tomorrow so I can stop looking in vain for any updates
I was thinking to give Barr example as a joke. But really Barr is an outlier. Every few seasons you see someone renege on their commitment, but this is rare. Even if you can't officially sign until 15th, you have to talk to them fist anyway. It would be good to mention you have someone like Rodgers as your QB as a part of that conversation.
This is at least the third year in a row that those yet uncommitted to excitement about "prospects" for the future are being scolded by the same people who believe they should control the timing of such. Hindsight clearly shows which group has been correct and which has not. Perhaps the ironclad timing of one's excitement could be delayed for a bit, or at least acknowledged in its context.
Seemed to me like it was a done deal. Seems to be a hangup. Could be Rodgers. But then again it could be JD and the Packers GM having a pissing contest.
I've been reading a few different Packers boards, and there is a noticeable portion of Packers fans who are convinced the holdup is Rodgers being petty to f*ck over the GB organization because of a soured relationship with management. There is a fear that this pettiness is going to cost them Keisean Nixon when the bell rings a few hours from now.
Hah..I don't know if my name checks out or whatever but it could actually be some other thing than Rodgers being a dick.
“Guy gives so few fucks about anyone other than himself.” This statement is so true. You can keep this guy and his selfish attitude. This guy is a zero. I hope he goes back to GB and makes them miserable. I believe JD and Co. are praying he doesn’t come here. This was all Woody. Today starts FA and he has said nothing. He can care less about anyone else with the exception of himself.
Even if not offical, we will know soon after tampering starts, it will be either FA the jets have been talking to are being told that AR is the jets qb or that they are being told the jets don't know, and there is no way that dosent leak very quickly
I feel like the holdup could have more to do with the teams/GMs playing hardball and very little to do with Rodgers himself.
I could see this. If he knows GB doesn't want him back and prefers to see what they have in Love, Rodgers being petty and trying to mess with GB's ability to make moves or beat down their leverage is understandable.
I don’t know how this isn’t the prevailing thought amongst everyone. Rodgers is your classic sociopath.
Feel like something has to give today. Both the Jets and the Packers have to know how much money they have to give out to prospective FAs so I would hope we know something shortly. I've been saying this for days though, so who knows anymore?
