I actually agree. There is no reason it should have gone on this long. Aaron should have his mind made up by now. It's retire or play for the Jets. An extra 24 hours with a rushed deadline shouldn't contribute to a life decision that important. And if it's the Packers arguing for a better trade, STFU you have no leverage. Come to terms with it and agree so we can all move on and focus on building our teams in Free Agency.
Others have said it as well, but the longer it drags out, the worse i feel about it. It just seems like if he was coming, we would have heard it by now.
If Aaron was retiring I think its much more likely we would have heard it by now. I really do think now that Aaron made up his mind days ago and its the Packers and Jets in a stalemate. I thought based on the Bmarsh video Aaron was saying he would decide soon, but I think that was actually him saying the trade is gonna go through soon. I don't even think the Jets-Packers are in a stalemate. I think the Jets lowballed the Packers and the Packers said "Ok, we agree, but we are going to wait until Tuesday to process the trade incase any better offers come our way."
We've waited this long. It's a cake walk from here. Rogers is coming. For all we know he's already told Douglas and just wants to make his big dramatic announcement tomorrow.
If it goes past noon tomorrow likely there is no deal. Easy for you to call JD a moron or not smart without knowing zippo as to what the terms and conditions from all three parties are.
If it passes noon tomorrow and we hear a report the Jets are reaching out to a QB like Jimmy G, then yes. I agree it would be a tell it won't happen.
I mean it doesn’t really matter, if they go into tomorrow without an answer from Aaron Rodgers and they put every free agent quarterback through the Derek Carr treatment then JD is undoubtedly an idiot.
We did absolutely miss on Carr but even so, I don't feel like it was the miss of a lifetime. I think Carr is decent but it feels more like a Kirk Cousins solution than missing out on a top 10 QB. The only way to have a real elite QB long term is to draft one in this league or find talent in overlooked players like Mike White.
But he is not a member of this board where we had to move 30 messages out of this thread due to back and forth bickering about drug use etc. Let's stay on topic and on football field as much as possible.
I think New Orleans was Carr’s destination the whole time personally. He talked to them while still with the Raiders, then used his FA time to compare with other options mainly the Jets. I’m not saying he used the Jets for leverage I think he considered them but it may have come down to several things including the weather, media, and pocket money - how much does one save in taxes etc playing in New Orleans compared to NY/NJ ? I’ve noticed he is kind of an emotional guy that may not play well with the local media in NY and he is not exactly a world beater in cold weather. Playing in the dome is to his advantage ….. Just my opinion of course ..
Can’t wait for Rodgers to sign before 12 tomorrow so everyone can calm the f down. None of it matters until tomorrow at 12. What did Rodgers say? R E L A X
