Nothing is imminent. We’re being held hostage by a jackass who can’t make a damn decision. At this point I set my line at a 4th and Corey Davis. Not good enough? Fine, enjoy another year of this clown, Green Bay
2nd or 3d this year with conditional 1st next year, depending on Rodgers' performance - like getting to SB would be first, AFC finals 2nd, if not 3d.
2023 3rd round pick + Elijah Moore OR Denzel Mims + 2024 4th round pick or higher depending on Jets record this year. (One pick only) 4th round = no playoff berth 3rd round = playoff berth 2nd round = Championship game berth 1st round = Super Bowl Champs
What I think is appropriate. 1)A third round pick each year he plays for the Jets. 2) My second offer: a third this year. Next year, a fourth (if playing in 2024) but with escalators based on how we finish in 2023. Third rounder if playoffs, second if AFC championship game, first if win Super bowl. If he plays in 2025, same structure but start with a fifth and max at a second.
Dang people are low balling the condition pick. The conditional pick for Farve was a 1st if we made the playoffs. Now we have to make the SB? I'd say were giving up a 2nd this year and a third next year that could become a 1st if we win a playoff game. I also see the teams swapping some WRs.
The Favre trade was 15 years ago the league has changed alot since then in regards to trades and expectations of compensation. Hell almost 40 years ago the Jets traded a dejected and mentally battered 30 year old Richard Todd away for a first round pick… The only way GB sees a first round pick from the Jets this time - if they see one - would be under some type of scenario which favors the Jets i.e. a SB championship or at least an appearance imo.
From the Bleacher Report article written at the time of the trade: To answer the question of the thread, what will the package be? I don't know, mainly because I don't think there will be a completed trade because Rodgers will announce his retirement sometime in the next couple of days. I would imagine the package would be a 2nd round pick this year and then a conditional pick for 2024 that would kick in if he decides to play and then escalate based on both individual and team performance.
I just want to go on record that I am against Rodgers coming here at all. Zach Buston can sit behind him and learn blah blah, NOT INTERESTED unless Aaron Rodgers accepts jukebox money to play marbles. I'm sure I'm in the minority but if Rodgers comes here especially at a cost that equates to malpractice faith officially lost.
I don’t want him either but I don’t want any of the available options either. I wanted Carr. Unfortunately Rodgers represents the best option.
I was somewhat on the fence about Carr, anyway, but I can't help feeling that pumpkin head Woody put the kibosh on it somehow because of the "splash" factor of cat turd Rodgers. That in itself is very concerning because Joe Douglas got Woody to concede to let him do his job without any direct interference. Now Woody Johnson is back to outright gumming up the machinery. At least that's the inference from where I'm sitting, and it's not a good thing IMO. At all.
Considering the packers have 0 leverage, I'd give them a conditional 3rd. Throw in Cobb or Bahktiari for a conditional 2nd.
2023 2 2024 3 with conditions to move it up based on performance / roster in 24 starting to believe that 2023 2 could be a 3 after seeing what Miami gave up for Ramsey and eating 30m of the contract.
