There’s not a single credible source claiming it’s either of the teams at this point. It’s Rodgers, everyone sees it.
Not convinced we would have beat Denver with Wilson,Cleveland with Watson, Chicago with Fields, or Pittsburgh if it was Pickett's 3rd game instead of his first. Maybe - maybe not. But we love making up wins with excuses around here to convince ourselves were better than we are.
You're the one with the ifs and buts. What was Fields record as a starter? How about Denver with Wilsin? Watson was not good this year and never slated to pay for 3/4 of the season. Pittsburgh? You're grasping at straws. Holy shit.
Tomlinson cap hit of 23 next year is brutal but there’s no way JD does that unless he knows Rodgers is coming. They would have saved $13m next year instead
When he doesn't come here I have no choice but to blame the NY Media and Jet fans who tried to will this into existence. Aaron Rodgers will be third in my list of blame
Do you have a link? If Rodgers becomes a Jet, my guess is that would be Allen Lazard. Though "major piece" might be a bit of a stretch for him, it still would be a great addition especially with Rodgers here. I highly doubt they'd sign OBJ. The other glaring hole is at FS. I doubt they could afford it, but Jesse Bates would be a tremendous add
All jokes aside, I firmly believe this delay is almost exclusively about Rodgers' emotions towards the Packers. He's gone through multiple offseason of taking them to task, threatening retirement, and generally putting them through the wringer, but now they're tired off his sh*t and have decided to move on - effectively rejecting him. While I expect him to play next year, I would not be incredulous if he chose to retire simply to spite Green Bay because he feels scorned. I feel like this is all about his relationship with the Packers at this point. He's always been in control of the relationship, and now that he's not he's acting like a teenager trying to prove to himself and the public that he's still the best after his longtime girlfriend dumped him at the dance because they had had enough.
I'm pretty sure the Raiders can maneuver their cap and come up with trade compensation in the next 24 hours. We better watch out.
