Jimmy G to Raiders. Aaron retires Jones and Lamar get tagged Tennessee keeps Tannehill = Mike White season. Save $ get a blue chip OT and C in draft FA pick up pass rush help, and WR (trade for Hopkins,), extend Q let's gooooo
You would not give even a 2nd round pick for 4 time NFL MVP QB (two out of last three years) and further would stop being a fan if we did? Come on now, this is a bit ridiculous. I know he had a down season (which was still good) and is getting there in age, but did you see what the Bucks did with Brady? We could be a real contender for two years, well worth 2nd round pick.
After further review, I was a wee bit overly dramatic. You're right, I would give a 2nd for the Legend.
Even giving away a 2nd round pick for (if we're lucky) 2 seasons of production, that's basically giving away the caliber of a quality starting offensive lineman. Why couldn't we have just signed Carr?
Don't be fooled by everyone saving face. The Saints were always Carr's number 1 choice. Even before he left LV that was the only team he requested a meeting with.
"Hurry Hurry Hurry!! Buy your overpriced PSL's and gameday tickets to see the One and Only Future HOF QB Aaron Rodgers!!".. The Jet PR department is probably drooling over the thought of hyping up The Living Legend as the one who will bring a SB to the Jets in a year or two.. Maybe the Jets will be smart enough NOT to hire JB Smoove as their HypeMan this time..
I have a hard time believing an idiot like Woody who didn't trust himself enough to hire a GM, is going to overrule a guy that has proven to be an astute and legit GM. Like him or not, JD is a very persuasive man, and I can't see him sitting down and not convincing a bumbling, know-nothing like Woody that Carr was not the better choice than AR. Woody IS a starfucker, but the type of starfucker that has to be told who the star is...
I have a hard time believing Jets FO wanted Carr over Rodgers. Objectively, Rodgers is a better player. We hired Hack as the OC. Rodgers SHOULD be the plan A and Carr is Plan B. If we end up with Aaron, it's the best case scenario for the Jets. And I like Carr, and I think he can be like Stafford. But Rodgers can be like Rodgers. There is enormous difference. And I have to believe JD and Saleh know that, it's not just Woody being star struck. There is merit to this. Rodgers is a year removed from back to back MPV seasons, durable as hell, and probably makes us the favorites in AFC East.
