Here's Matthew Berry's report (which he apparently is doing now). Infuriating and not surprising in the least if true. That moron never learns: https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/artic...zz/23-most-interesting-things-i-heard-combine 3. As long as we are talking big-name quarterbacks, despite all the rumors of Derek Carr going to the Jets, one thing that held that up was that Jets owner Woody Johnson really wants Aaron Rodgers. So, the staff has had to be supportive of that. However, secretly, the rest of the team's front office wanted Derek Carr. Now that Carr is reportedly signing with New Orleans, the Jets are in “Hoping for Rodgers” mode. If that doesn't work out… who knows?
Woody Johnson Is the worst fucking owner In the fucking NFL. Not even close. I knew this fuck stain had his dumb ass fingerprints all over this situation. What a stupid fucking owner. How hard Is it to write the fucking checks and step aside so far more knowledgeable fucking people can make this team worth watching? I literally can't believe this asshat Is In the position In life that he Is. Fuck him.
It fits everything. He still loves Zach so it gives the excuse to keep him while learning behind his “mentor” that he’s spoken to like twice. Carr or the younger guys kinda throws that out the window.
I think all Woody doing is signing checks already. He even flew to meet with Carr. I mean this could just mean JD prefers Aaron and we have a good shot at him. We are blaming Woody for Carr signing with the Saints? Let's at least see what we end up with before shitting all over him.
It was reported in the ESPN/Matthew Berry article that it was Woody who really wants AR and the staff has to support him.
I saw this a while ago... it kinda confirms my fears about what's been happening... the smell of Woody is all over this AR fixation. The whole organization is in a semi-holding pattern, waiting for AR, at a critical time in the off-season. Had they signed Carr, everything would've been in place, to move forward and attack free-agency/the draft/the cap, etc. Now, they've lost control of the situation, & have to wait on AR, & some decisions have to be put off for days, or weeks. This team is never gonna win anything, as long as Woody is owner. They're never gonna a get a solid, experienced head coach, as we've seen since he bought the team. I've always wondered if BB would've stayed as HC, for more than one day, had Hess not sold to Woody. What's really sad for me, is I don't want AR, so all I can hope for is a Jimmy G... how lovely. .
If this is true, then Woody merely underlined what we already knew. He’s a fucking moron and we’ll most likely never win anything until he’s gone.
I'm waiting for Carr or one of his relatives to say he really wanted to be a Jet but they just didn't want to commit to him despite meeting with him twice. He should also say he hates domes and prefers to play against the best QB's in the entire NFL. It would make perfect sense.
Oh I missed that. Is Berry as reliable though? I mean I like Carr, he is a 4 time Pro Bowler, but I would think 4 time MVP would be better.
I will not go ballistic until we know about Rodgers. If by any chance, Jets had an under the table agreement with Packers and end up with Rodgers I will be pretty happy. But if by any chance we botched the Carr thing due to an unconfirmed Rodgers hope I will get naked and protest Woody in front of Florham Park once the weather gets warm. @GQMartin you with me?
Hey, it's all good. Philip Rivers is contemplating a return to the league! Options, options, options!!!! {fart}
Is it ok to say Carr used the Jets to drive up the price for the Saints (this making the Jets clown shoes) as well as Woody screwed this up by having no intention of signing Carr because he's all in on Rodgers?
If we have to give up any sort of high draft comp to get Rodgers ( a 1st or 2nd) I will be looking for a new team to support. Enough is enough. My Dad, God rest his soul, already gave permission to cut bait with this "loser franchise" before he passed. After 46 years of watching this garbage shit show organization, I think that time is almost here, thanks Dad.
