I given this a lot of thought and I know however unlikely, what do you guy's think about Donavan Mcnabb being the Jets Quarter back. I don?t have any idea on his contract situation with Philly and the emergence of Jeff Garcia (possibly a fluke) adding into this Scenario but If not him who do you guy's think would be a Good fit for the New York Jets. (To stop the obvious "Chad Pennington"-please add someone other then Chad)
I'm hoping we can swing a trade for either Brady or P.Manning. We should be able to package our #1 and maybe even that #2 we got from the Skins. What do you think???
For this question I will start by thinking about the qb's currently in the playoffs AFC 1Peyton Manning- Who wouldn't take him over chad 2Tom Brady- Another no brainer. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. 3Philip Rivers- No way. Seems like he can be a cry baby and inconsistent. He is lucky he has LT 4Steve McNair- He is on his decline. Plays efficient but his age will eventually take over. NFC 1Matt Hasselback- He's good but nothing special. 2Rex Grossman- You have to be kidding me 3Drew Brees- I like him. I think he would actually be the best fit for our system. 4Jeff Garcia-Efficient but still not spectacular enough to take him over Chad Conclusion Currently in the playoffs I would only take Peyton, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees over Chad Pennington. I would only take another Qb that I know for sure will make an Impact change. Not someone that would maybe be slightly better. Besides Playoff Qb's I can't think of anyone else that intrigues me enough. I'll add Donovan McNabb on the list as well so that makes four. Funny thing is a Qb such as Rex Grossman or Philip Rivers can win the Super Bowl this year. I am sure a lot of people would take Chad over those two and then we still have doubters about Chad not being a Qb that can take us the Super Bowl.
The Jet fans have spoken, they want a QB with a rocket arm because that is all that matters. So here we go: Jeff George Browning Nagle Ryan Leaf David Klingler Glenn Foley Sounds good to me.
If you're going to sarcastically suggest that an arm is all that matters why not use a more current example rather then guys that are either out of football or too old to play. Kyle Boller and his 60 yards through the goalpost from his knees would be a great poster boy.
