My choice as of now is Pep Hamilton. Hughes says Bevell is the rumor… The was great in Seattle until he called that pass on the goal line. He hasn’t been very good anywhere else.
If we pickup a decent vet quarterback... the next OC doesn't need to be the second coming of Don Coryell. Just run a balanced offense that plays into the strength of the playmakers.
The season Daniel Jones just had with Kafka has me thinking David Girardi(Chiefs pass game analyst/assistant QB coach) could be a sleeper candidate.
I also would take a look at Jay Gruden. He developed Kirk Cousins and has similarly been around the block.
Todd Monken from Georgia. Name sound familiar? The guy is coming off a masterful season with Stetson Bennett and took that O to another level this year. Look at all the hot college names too. Be bold Jets.
I know I am biased as a bills fan, but I was surprised when the colts fired reich. He is a real leader. Only issue is, I don’t think he’s ever called plays. Can someone confirm that? I think Peterson called them when reich was OC in Philly. I’m sure it’s not difficult to pick up, he was a damn QB of course.
I know Cimini said Kubiak isn't in the scope of the search but throw money at him and bring in a vet QB.
No way he’d want to make that move. One more year at Georgia as the offensive guru with the best talent in the country and then he’ll have his pick of college head coaching jobs next year.
yeah he'd be a pipe dream and we probably should've hired him instead of Gase but we didn't so we're stuck here. as @Jonathan_Vilma said, he's already having a comfy job with back-to-back national championships at UGA and is also very well paid. He will have a plethora of options and almost all of them would be better than OC of the NYJ 23-24 team
No he won't. He's a career coordinator for 30 years minus a 3 year stint at Southern Miss several years ago. He'll also be 58 after next season. The guy's resume wreaks of lifetime OC especially at this point of his career and he could be had for the right price. If there Jets are serious they need to step up and pay the man.
See my reply to Vilma. Yeah he is the hot name who could turn this thing around. Calls nice versatile offensive systems catered to his QB's skillset. It's up to the Jets to pay the guy if they're serious about getting this thing right.
