My guess is that another owner made fun of the Jets offense and Woody was (rightly) humiliated.

I’m quite alright with that shriveled old boner getting mocked mercilessly if it gets results.

Oh another rumor, wasn't the first "Rumor" Saleh was getting axed, because woody wasn't sold on him, just more click bait garbage

I’m torn here. I agree with Woody and I think that Saleh not holding his staff accountable is his biggest issue as a coach. He’s too loyal. On the other hand I don’t want the owner making these calls. You hired football guys to make football decisions. Let them do their jobs or fire all of them and bring in better football people.

Fire them all - except JD and Saleh.

    Draft OLine.

Sign QB vet to compete with MW for #1.

    RUN. THE. BALL.

    Keep Zach at #3.

15 points in the last three games. 5 field goals.

    Is that worth keeping around?

The real question is why does Saleh want to keep MLF around.

My biggest concern is if you fire MLF, who do you get to replace him? I'd want a veteran coach with a strong track record. I think there's a valid case to retain him and to fire him.

Also, I have such little faith in Woody's judgment that his (allegedly) wanting to fire the whole offensive staff makes me think the best thing is actually to retain everyone. Kind of like a George Constanza, do the opposite kind of the thing

I'm pretty sure that the CS didn't want to continue playing Zach but they kept having no choice.

Also, not aiming at you or Reich b/c I'd love him here as an senior offensive assistant, but exactly what QBs has Reich mentored and developed into a top tier one?

Wentz and Foles did pretty good job under Frank. Outside of that you maybe correct.

I saw this from Leberfeld before. While I think he's a bit of an arse, he has been doing Jets Confidential for decades, & does sometimes get things from sources that the beat misses... so, I'm hopeful something will get done, & it won't be status quo for next season.

Here's a more detailed article from Leberfeld, last night...

If we fire MLF and get Frank Reich, that would be great. But I'm afraid the the only one willing to take the job will be Nathaniel Hackett.

Aaron Wilson is pretty connected. Im willing to bet he got something from a source before MLF was actually notified and now the Jets are doing damage control. I hope at least. This is the one time I will ever root for Woody to get his way.

I liked Mike Lafleur, but you FAIL to develop the #2 overall pick at QB, you FAIL to score a single touchdown in the final 3 games, 2 of them were for a playoff spot. What else can you say? You should be fired.

You might actually find a good OC who sees this as an opportunity to jump into the big seat if Saleh goes down after next season.

Yea at the end of the day I can’t get on him for Zach because honestly it looks like Zach is just not an NFL QB. Not scoring TD’s though is bad. Plenty of other OC’s make it work when they are hit with obstacles. He seems either too egotistical or too uncreative to veer away from his system to make something else work.

I have no idea how more people don’t see this. Seems pretty obvious

Or a good OC that sees this as an opportunity with some solid young weapons on offense, and a top defense to help him out. I would say it is appealing in that way too.

On the flip side... what OC is coming here knowing we have either the worst QB room in football or the most unknown QB room in football?
