Of course it could be nothing at all… But being pulled over twice in the same state, and not getting a ticket in either is weird as hell. Most of the time , especially with out of state tags, you’re getting a ticket on both. Because they know it’s a payday, on the interstate, and you’re not coming back to fight it. also, Indiana is pretty far from Washington. It’s not like what driving habits that had them pulled over, Just started in Indiana. They most likely passed many cops along the way, driving In The same manner state to state.
The video of the second stop was released today and part of the conversation was about the suspect being a TA in a criminal justice program which I could surmise might be reason enough for some cops to extend the "professional courtesy" of not writing a traffic ticket.
White Elantra. How long had the car description been in the news? I wouldn't be that surprised if Indiana had a BOLO for white Elantras and was pulling them over on sight.
It was in the news 8 days before Bryan left for pa. Just saw that the fbi did ask the Indiana police to pull him over. accoring to other students in his class at wsu, they talked about this case extensively. So , being a white Elantra owner, 7 miles away, you would think he would have reported to the authorities clear him and his car. Instead, he did 2 things… he changed his plates from pa to wa, 5 days after the murders, and also had an undercoating put on the car a week or so later.
A YouTube channel(one that’s pretty decent with a lot of subscribers), put out a video yesterday claiming to have a very close friend, who knows an fbi agent assigned to the case. she said: A cat taking a pee, triggered a nearby ring cam, that picked up the car. One of the girls downstairs , heard the commotion and yelled up the stairs to stfu.(this would go in line with xanas mom saying they did hear something ,a few weeks ago) the crime was more brutal than even imagined. Shared some details , but it’s out there if anyone wants to look it up. knife sheath was found under Ethan . This makes sense, if the details are true , that he faught back. Maybe the killer was on his way out when confronted , had to remove the knife from sheath, and lost it during confrontation. we’ll find out in a year or so if any of this was true. Maybe some of it earlier. I hope they have the right guy and a lot of damning evidence. For the families to have to go through a no conviction, or having to feel the killer is still out there would be horrible.

One of the survivors was living in the 2nd floor br, not the first. Saw him, and closed and locked her door . Heard crying, and some comments. Curious to know why she didn’t call 911 right then, but near noon the next day. He was in a mask.

I don't really know what to make of the fragments we've been getting the last day or so. Suspect had moved to WA from PA this summer and it would be reasonable to put off changing the plates for a bit. The undercoating on the car could well be the difference between living in Eastern Washington and living in Pennsylvania. No idea what the difference is in salt damage from those two locations. Authorities were looking for a 2011-2013 white Elantra and they found a 2015 white Elantra. No idea if the difference is relevant. The suspect was near the house a dozen times since June. Did he attend parties there and were there a dozen of them in that time? Did he have any relationship with anybody who lived in the house? Did he have anybody else he visited regularly in the vicinity of that cell tower? The authorities found a leather knife sheath on the bed of one of the victims. The DNA match came off of that knife sheath. No further info on that but it would be interesting to hear their evaluation of how a knife sheath wound up on the bed. They haven't clarified beyond knife sheath at this point so we don't know if it was a protective covering of some sort or a belt sheath. In either case it seems like an awfully big oops by the suspect if it wound up lying on one of the victim's beds. One of the survivors apparently saw the attacker in the house and he walked past her and out of the house. That sounds really off unless he specifically knew her and did not want to attack her. He'd just killed 4 people and he walks by a fifth after making eye contact? Right now it is a garbled mess for us but hopefully the FBI has a much tighter rein on the facts than we do.
A few random thoughts from the peanut gallery: 1. It ain't easy being a criminal these days. Look at the evidence in this case that would have been unheard of 30 years ago: DNA, cellphone records, surveillance camera footage. Without that evidence, the police would have been up the creek here. 2. The probable-cause affidavit is very carefully and precisely worded. It shows these cops and prosecutors know what they're doing. It's definitely not the Keystone Kops picture that some painted early in this investigation. 3. The defense will be doing in all in its power to exclude the DNA evidence from the sheath. They'll look for any i that isn't dotted or t that isn't crossed, such as any break in the chain of custody, any sloppy handling of the sample and any other possibility of contamination. 4. The lack of motive is a potential problem. Motive isn't an element of the offense, which means the State does not have to prove motive to obtain a conviction. However, juries usually like to hear about motive. It's easier to believe that the defendant committed the murders if there's a reason (no matter how twisted) for him to have done so. 5. The behavior of the one survivor is a potential problem. If you're the prosecutor, how do you explain that behavior to the jury? 6. If I were the prosecutor, I'd be handing a grand-jury subpoena to the defendant's father. Bring him before the grand jury and lock him in under oath as to what the defendant said during the long ride back from Idaho to Pa., especially any comments he made about these murders.

Another weird thing pertaining to the surviving roommate, who we now know was on the 2nd floor. Her bedroom, was closest to the back sliders, and also the stairs to the 3rd floor. Xana and Ethan’s room was the furthest away. Curious as to why he most likely walked in, and back out right past her door, yet went to the furthest point to commit the crimes. Suggests to me again, that someone on the 3rd floor was the target, and that he heard people awake in xanas room.
Door dash came around 4 am. Was this the bag for xana, from the jack in the box in Pullman? Talk about a tight time frame. The guy may have been in the house at that point.
