Yep, I was in on Minshew weeks ago. He probably gets all 3 starts with the Eagles to finish out the season. This is a great opportunity for him to show what he can do, and us as Jets fans to see the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Hopefully we get the same opportunity with White so we can have a good, current comparison.

Be real here darksider. Mahomes will kill your existence in this forum. Minshew will show good and bad and you will be happy to have him as a Jet. :)

Kidding aside, I see Garappolo too injury prone for my taste. Carr will be super expensive. Mike White or Minshew for me.

Minshew? Should have 3 picks today, he's no upgrade, we already have a turnover machine

Minshew- no thanks. He is the product of a system. We have no system.

I still think Carr would be the best fit short term while we draft another FQB to destroy.

At a diminutive 6'-1" (shorter than Zach) and a scrambling ability which scares nobody, Minshew appears to be the poor man's Drew Brees. Don't know what the Jets' budget is for the QB position, but one would think they can spend a few more bucks and get a little more bang for their buck. Conversely, if they think they can resolve their most recent QB quagmire on the cheap, then Minshew makes sense. One thing is for sure, a Minshew signing does little to elevate expectations and keep an increasingly rabid fanbase, like some famished wolves, from gathering at their door.

Minshew played well today I thought but didn't like the decision making at the end 1) to spike the ball and 2) then to throw a prayer into the endzone on 2nd down. He ended up with 1 time-out in his pocket.

He's more durable than MW--with our team at full strength I think he's good enough to get to 9/10 wins. He and MW would be a nice 1/1A at a reasonable price.

I'll pass on Minshew. I suspect JD will try to bring in more experience. Everything depends on what they do with Zach? If the organization does the reset THEY need to do, Zach will be back, together with an experienced QB coach/mentor; they'll try to re-sign MW, & they'll bring in a viable vet, the names we all know.
I wonder if there are any 'darkhorse' options, kinda under the radar, that may interest JD? I mean, a year ago, if you mentioned Geno Smith, you'd have been committed.

Yeah--if only someone thought to dedicate resources to mentoring ZW in the first 2 years.

They did, initially. Then when Knapp died, they decided for the quality-control guy.
This is my biggest criticism of JD... he allowed this to happen. He seems to be hands-off with the CS, which might be understandable with an experienced CS. But will all newbies, he needed to be more involved.

Zach had Cavanaugh, Calabrese, AND Beck last year. How much help does one guy need?

No thanks on Minshew. Mike White has more arm talent IMO. Now I wouldn't mind bringing him in as a back up or to push White. I don't think he's better though overall.

Bringing Geno home might not be a bad idea.
