Gotta win this one. 7-7 wouldn't eliminate them, but would really put their backs against the wall. Unfortunately it's become an increasingly tough game with the Lions playing some really good football and Jameson Williams debuting and already making an impact. No reason they shouldn't win IMO if they're an actual playoff team.
The Lions play hard and should not be taken lightly, but this team has to win this one both for playoff hopes and to show a little adversity won't cause the season to snowball into a late season collapse.
The Lions have a terrible Defense and we have a good one...a little better than the Mnnesota D imo Maybe that makes the difference ...I hope so They won't beat up White like Buffalo did right??
It is going to be a very difficult game. Detroit is playing excellent football and our Jets lost several key guys to injury today
I don't see us pulling this one out. We're banged up in many areas and have been playing very inconsistent football over the past couple of weeks. Playoff teams tend to start righting the ship at this point in the season while it feels like we're starting to head in the opposite direction. And the Lions have been on fire lately it seems. Will be a tough one for sure.
I don't think the Jets are far off from winning though. And the Lions have been hot but can they stay this hot? They've had three straight home games so wonder how they'll do back on the road outdoors Agree that the Jets injury report is a big question mark but regardless, this is a game they should win. But I don't expect it to be an easy one by any stretch
Funny, but so true. Before the season started most here were hoping for 6-7 wins. I thought 9 wins would be a great sign going forward and I still believe that. No one expected a shot at the playoffs but some things broke our way (like opposing qbs going down) and here we are. That said, the Jets are better than Detroit, even with our mounting injuries.
Jets win in a laugher. Last six for Detroit -- Green bay - W @ Chicago - W @ NYG - W vs Buffalo - L Jax - W Minn - W People jumping on this Detroit team like they are the hottest thing ever need to pump the breaks. Few quick stats to compare their offense road vs home: Passer rating is 25 points higher at home than the road (101 vs 76) 14:3 TD:INT at home vs a 9:11 on the road 32.1 PPG at home vs 18.4 PPG on the road They do run the ball better on the road. 5.1 YPC v 3.6 at home
Must win. Simple as that. Win both home games (Lions, Jags) and at least get a split with the road games (Seahawks, Dolphins). If they do that then that will give them 10 wins. Will it be enough for a WC in the tough AFC. Hope so. The Jets may have to run the table at this point since the conference is really strong.
they have a good OL which has benefitted their entire offense. Goff is a good QB ONLY when given above average protection.
The Jet have got to get their act together fast. They cannot afford to piss anymore games away with these asinine penalties. The Lions are a team on the rise. Hopefully Big Q will be back in there and the Jets D can tame these Lions.
Assuming Mike White plays and isn't seriously hindered by his injury, I really think they're going to win this game and make a statement.
Lions are due for a let down......however one could argue so are the jets after 2 tough road losses. like the jets, the lions are starting to benefit from recent drafts by drafting heavy OL and DL with some offensive skill sprinkled in. one glaring difference is at QB where they obviously obtained Goff as we muddled at the top of the draft for 2 mistakes.
3-1 will do it as 10 wins should be enough to squeak in. These two home games are must wins though. I don’t think Seattle is as tough an out as portrayed here in this board.
The Lions aren't going to have a letdown. Just the opposite. They have played their way back into the NFC playoff picture. That #7 seed is within striking distance for them now.
