The question is not whether you thought they WOULD win - because that's just stoopid. The question is whether or not you thought they COULD win - and we knew that they could. That's why questions like this are nonsense. I can be BOTH enthusiastic that the team was better than I thought AND I can be disappointed that we lost. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Stop trying to make them.
I thought we had a shot of Both Wolfork and Harrison was out. Wolfork played and played great. The Pats are a much more talented team and the fact that we played them into the third quarter before being overwhelmed is because our coaches had a good game plan and the players believed in it. We simply wore out and than were crushed. You could add in a couple of bad decissions but overall for most of the game we played over our heads.
There's no reason to be upset about anything when your team makes the playoffs... that's really all you can ask for as a fan. The NFL is full of surprises and disappointments, and this year was a surprise. That's all that matters.
If that were true, we wouldn't have lost six straight games to the Patriots before this last win on their home field. You don't get it, I know. But then, you never will.
I think yesterdays game brought alot of people back to reality. There were some people that were excited about playing the Patriots in the first round, citing that the talent gap between the Jets and the Pats was less then the other 3 top teams in the AFC. If that really is the case then we saw how far the Jets still have to go to be considered an elite team or a SB contender.
I thought they were going to win. They had a lot of momentum and obviously the players and the coaches really wanted that game. If a few plays go differently (or are called differently) I think the Jets stay in it to the end and probably win the game.
