His late defenses have been 50/50 PI and he has gotten all the calls. That's called high 1st round respect with a strong measure of "I don't fuckup in other situations" thrown in. Revis got that and it's good to see Sauce getting it. The play at the end today was in the eyes of the beholder. If you wanted to see Sauce pressing his body against the receiver and using his hand to guide him you could see that but if you wanted to see the tightest possible coverage short of PI that was there also and respect won the day.
This team is good enough to win wearing any uniform ….it would be nice to see green jerseys for a change.
I was concerned when we went down two scores that MLF would put it on Zach to throw. Kudos for sticking to the run and eating up the clock.
Loved this. We beat a top 3 team in the league legitimately. No back up QBs, or other thing that can be put in front of us. We stopped and beat the number #1 offense in the league and put 20 on a top defense too. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
There really are more important things than football. Hope everything works out ok. But a huge win over Buffalo has to help a little!
This win is absolutely massive to me for one primary reason: it builds tons of credibility that the franchise is on the rise. There are pieces in place, young players making performance leaps, a general level of really good competitiveness, and it's leading to legitimate wins. This is how it happens for teams when they make the jump from a potential surprise team that might compete for the last playoff spot with a bunch of breaks, to a team that becomes one of those preseason playoff lock picks for several years in a row. They just suddenly look like a team that can compete and win, almost out of the blue. Now I hope BAL screws up and Douglas throws everything possible at Lamar Jackson in the offseason.
OTOH, where were the multiple missed calls against the Bills? I can think of three RTP/PF calls that should've been called on plays involving Zach, and a "spearing call" that should've been called on the player who knocked off G. Wilson's helmet. There were others, but those were the ones that stood out and really were obvious. Woody needs to grow a pair and call up the league office and raise hell about the crappy officiating against the Jets.
No F'ing way. We don't throw everything possible at anyone - let alone him. To me that would be doing the one thing that could possibly derail this rebuild. Other than that, I love what you said here
On the train home. What a fucking game! The crowd was legit 50/50 bills jets. I have no voice. So much fun
I can't be the only one pissed off to high hell how our QB's get shots to the head and they're not called. It was the same for Darnold too. Meanwhile we blow a kiss on a QB after the ball comes out of their hands, and we lose a game because of it (last week).
I normally use this forum to vent my frustration for this team during games but the win today was legit. zach made alot of good throws and defense was solid overall. makes up for last week’s shit show for sure.
Zach isn't ready to carry a team with his arm yet. I think MLF has to design game plans that fit the players who are on the field. In our case, that's run first, throw when you must. Until Zach learns to look for more than GW, he's not ready. Maybe MLF is designing plays specifically for GW and if that's true, that's a real disservice to the other WR's on the team. MLF has to go with what wins for the Jets and put aside whatever wet dream he has for an all out air assault. Establish the run, then have Zach pass when necessary. For now, that's how we win. Perhaps a year or two down the road when Zach has more tools in his box, MLF can air it out. Right now? Too soon for that. Especially with a powerful running attack that can wear down even the best defenses. You saw it today. Late in the game, the Bills D was gassed and we won the game running the ball down their throats and having Zach make the occasional great throw.
If the Jets stick to the ball control, low risk, high time of possession, low turnover formula, they can beat anyone. This defense makes plays and is a difference maker period. If the game is close going into the 4th quarter, this defense can be relied on to bring the game home.
And we get another shot at them in two weeks.... In some ways I'd rather beat them in front of their own spoiled fans.
