I love the people that blame a person’s incompetence on everyone but the person himself. It’s not that Zach sucks, it’s that we don’t have the right people to fix him so let’s get Kurt Warner

Don't we have a thread for that already?

He didn't "earn it" before? I thought they said he had a great offseason and stellar camp, etc.

I don't believe anything they say about Mims anymore.

Agreed. I find it hard to believe "something switched" just three weeks ago other than they were down a WR so he got more play. The whole Mims saga has been so weird.

It's clear he can play and he needs to get snaps going forward. Unless Jeff Smith is that lights out on special teams, he should be active over him if they continue keeping 5 WRs active

    100% agree.

What switched was Moore became a distraction and Davis got hurt.

And I love people that expect young QBs, especially from not-overly-competitive college programs, to enter the NFL, ready to perform as NFL QBs, with untested inexperienced coaches to mentor them.
Back to Mims... ya gotta really love the kid, after the way he was tossed in the trash, by the CS & some fans, & just kept his head down & worked. Hopefully, the CS has learned something & will give him his deserved shots tomorrow, & for the remainder of the season. I'll never understand how the CS imagined Jeff Smith deserved playing time over Mims, who has so much more upside.

Ask MLF... Seems he holds grudges.

I don't think he holds grudges. Me thinks he's just an Xs & Os data guy, without a clue how to deal with, teach, mentor, coach, develop or utilize his talent. I mean, seriously, how many coaches wouldn't find a way to integrate Elijah, into his offense... or wouldn't at least give Mims an opportunity over Smith? When Mims asked for a trade, I knew nobody would offer any value for him. Other teams must've thought Mims was a dog, or a head case... why else wouldn't the Jets give the guy an opportunity, after he showed promise as a rook?

I never expected Zach to be ready to perform. That’s my point, he’s not ready. As for Mims, every new regime always seems to find one guy from the old that they make an example of. Mims seems to be that guy. Thing that bugs me is they demanded Mims learn every WR position and every route before getting playing time, but they trot Zach out there with a pop up book knowledge of football strategies.

I'll try to follow the dots here. Mims asked for a trade because he wasn't being used even though the HC said he has progressed. Result? Mims didn't play. Why wasn't he traded for a box of coco puffs? He had no value because he didn't play. He didn't play because the OC never installed any packages for Mims until Davis got hurt. Mims is still the WR of last resort.

Moore asked for a trade because he wasn't being used even though the HC said he was a "valuable" member of the team. Result? Moore suspended for a game over tweets and a confrontation with the OC.

Neither WR will probably be on the roster at the end of their rookie deals if their agents are any good. Who is the common denominator here? Michael LeFleur, OC of the NYJ's. Both of these WR's were mothballed because they had the nerve to question the LeFleur system. I suspect the main reason why Zach hasn't progressed is because he really has no QB coach other than MLF as Calabreese seems to be a cardboard cutout.

It helps when you have off field connections to the HC. This really doesn't pass the smell test but we gave Saleh a pass. In most other situations, an HC would go out of his way NOT to hire his best friend's little brother to a high level job especially with this person not having any prior experience as a OC. The appearance of nepotism is something to be avoided, not swept under the rug. Result? MLF is bulletproof. He can do no wrong because he knows his boss will never fire him.

    Just my opinion.

I gave him a pass on that play, because of that bizarre skycam delay.
