If a player's arm or leg isn't working, you sit him. If his brain's not working, you sit him just as easily. You can't win a game relying on a guy whose head is not working. Let's be concerned about the present and let the future take care of itself.
Twitter is ablaze with tons of videos of missed receivers, wide open plays, and basic concepts that Zach completely misses but yes, let’s blame MLF.
The simplest thing the coach’s can do is call all timing passes. Catch the snap, turn and fire. If it’s not there then tuck it and run. All everyone ever talked about was his off platform ability, that’s because he has zero on platform ability. It needs to be beaten into his head that if he doesn’t make the right decision immediately then he is a runner only. The moment this kid thinks he can do something bad things happen.
I said this a week or so ago... I blamed it on the receivers not breaking their routes and giving Zach a target when he gets flushed. It's tough to see on the television broadcast... but the all-22 would show it. But it's pretty obvious that Zach is not seeing the field quick enough and over-reacts to pressure. Not a good combination...
If you think Tua should've been benched with those numbers then you should want Zach fired into the sun.
I'm sorry, but have you been watching the games? I can't possibly fathom how this could be someone's stance if they had been. We've had open receivers consistently, Zach just can't hit them regularly. He's doing the same thing he did early last year where he overthrows everyone.
Whatever you think may be "dumbass comments" the reality is that they are not in any way a "problem" as far as the Jets winning or losing - that happens 100% on the field.
Absolutely. Does Saleh even begin to realize that when he says barring injury Wilson is unequivocally his quarterback he is sending a message to every guy on the team that boneheaded mistakes and less-than-mediocrity is acceptable? Does he not care that the players want to win every game and keeping Wilson in there may very well work against that? Is there a better way to lose a team?
But I'm not defending Zach, I just don't like gobshite ex pros making a living telling people how to do something they couldn't do themselves. It's ok for gobshite posters on forums though, that should go without saying
Takes the pressure off Zach now. No matter how much or how badly he fcks up? His job is safe and he's on the field win or lose. The Kid is officially bulletproof. Now MLF can put the ball in the air another 40 times as well while mothballing the run game showing us no-nothings a thing or two as he's always been bulletproof. Just put the team on cruise control and relax. Winning takes a back seat to Zach's development. So Be it... R.I.P '2022. Its been fun sometimes..
My coach in high school used to call those tits & ass reads. Depending on where the flat defender flips his hips determines where you throw the ball.
I wouldn't go that far but he certainly has been having some major brain dead moments this year... He's had some bad mechanical issue this year so far... If he can clean up the simple shit, THE SIMPLE SHIT. Sigh. Then I think he can put It all together.. It's clearly mental right now though. 100%
This might be a bit of an exaggeration but that doesn't make plays like this any less frustrating. My heart sank a bit when he came out and threw this ball on the first play. I was hoping it was just nerves based on how poorly he had played against the Pats last year.
