You make some good points, but I don't think BB was so quick to trade players early in his career when he had a losing record. I think he only had the ability to do that once he had Brady and they started winning. Also, that's one way to win, but it's not the only way, and imo, it's not the best way. While I think most players respect BB, I think most hate him. That's why so many of them have left in FA rather than re-sign with the Patriots, even though they know the Patriots will still win more than they lose. They want more money and they're tired of playing for an asshole.

McCaffery has an alarming injury history and is set to make 12 million a year. And they got a 2nd, 3rd, ,4th, and 5th for him.

Moore is young, talented, and cheap. A 2nd, 3rd, and 6th is reasonable.

I didn't say that he deserved no credit, merely that he needs to do a much better job. Was Gase even a good HC? Yet, he won what, 6-7 straight games at the end of the 2019 season. Also, the Jets led the NFL on scoring on the opening drive of the game. Did that make him a great OC/HC? No. Sometimes teams lose in spite of great coaching and play calling, and sometimes teams win in spite of poor coaching and play calling because of their talent level. It's easy to be fooled by the fact that we're winning. It's been a long time and we've all been desperate for that. But we may not keep winning for long with the level of job that MLF is doing, or we may win enough to be a mediocre team winning 8-9 games a season but never making the playoffs or even if we sneak in a few times, getting blown out in our first game. I want to win a SB. I want us to reach our full potential. I love the culture we're building here, and we shouldn't be seeing players of high character requesting a trade. That sends a clear message that something is very wrong behind the scenes.

I agree that saying he hasn't been good at all is a bad take. He has been good in spots, and fortunately, he has gotten better in the 2nd half of games and particularly in the 4th Qtr. Still, I want to see him good for 4 quarters. I want to see players used properly. I want to see all of our offensive players happy and loving being a Jet. IMO MLF should be told in no uncertain terms that if one more offensive player requests a trade, regardless if it's his fault or not, that he (MLF) will be the one to go at the end of the season.

Moore has not played well this year. He has not been able to win much on the outside. His size hurts him there. He bailed on the route where Zach got intercepted. He could not catch a ball on the sideline having his foot half an inch out. In the last game is slowed on a good long pass from Zach. He CAN play on the outside, but he is really good slot. I remember during pre draft process people here were saying we should not pick GW because he is the same guy as Moore. And we needed someone who would translate better to X or Z receiver, and with a bit more size.

It looks like now this is exactly what manifested itself. The problem is that GW is a better slot than Moore. Apparently coaches feel Moore is a better than GW on the outside, even though he is not great there. They could try to switch them, but this way we may lose on the slot AND outside. So MILF is hesitant. What it looks to me now is that we picked wrong Ohio state kid, but what's done is done. At this point Mims will come in on Sunday and we might find out if he is ready or not. Though Denver has the best passing defense in the League, so don't expect much in the air.

I've agreed with @zace that MLF should and needs to be better. He hasn't been perfect but no OC is perfect.

I just can't agree with the stance that the OC for a team who is top 10 in scoring "hasn't been good at all".

Which I've agreed with ad nauseam. MLF can and needs to be better for us to reach our potential but he hasn't been bad this year. That's the only point I've been trying to make.

Elijah Moore is acting like a complete loser. Very disappointing 24 hours. The odd part is Elijah doesn't hold himself that way. He seemed like a great guy, cares about his team, and a fan favorite player. All he does is praise God and quote the bible all the time. These are not the actions of someone who does that. I'm fine sitting him the rest of the season and then trading him in the off-season. No need to give in to his childish/pathetic ways right now though.

If he does change his mind, and buys into Saleh and LaFleur, I would welcome him back with an apology to the team and to the fans. He is young. People make mistakes. He will see how bad this looks and hopefully learn from it.

I will throw in he may have mental issues right now. It is 2022. He might need counseling or something like that. Could be bigger than football and he is just taking it out on his team. Makes sense to me since this was so odd and out of left field.

There are about 10 teams whose beat writers want to trade for Moore. GMs are staying silent, but clearly there is a lot of interest in football circles. I mean, look what happened with Robbie and he still got moved. I have a feeling there are multiple offers coming in.

I'd be shocked if he drew more than a 2nd round pick. That's what we spent on him a couple of years ago. In a fire sale environment we'd get much worse offers so it is in the Jet's interest to tamp this down right now.

He doesn't owe us anything. His teammates are a different story, they're who a potential apology should be directed towards.

It could be some sort of mental health situation. If so, hopefully him taking it easy over the next few days will help. I'm seriously hoping that by Monday, this situation is resolved.

JD got 2 1's, a 3, and a player out of Jamal Adams.

Elijah isn't even close to having the same level of production that Jamal had at these points in their career but if a trade for Elijah does come to fruition, I have a feeling it'll be more than we think.

Yea I go back and forth on LaFleur. I think he has potential to be a real good OC and eventually a head coach, but I also see a lot of stubbornness and I’ve brought it up, arrogance, for a guy that has coached for 5 minutes. The Mims stuff last year was ridiculous. Maybe Mims isn’t great, but he should have been more involved last year. The fact that he only started 3 games and was actually inactive for a bunch with our shitty receiving corps last year was criminal. Now he’s got another talented receiver pissed off.

These coaches in all sports have to realize that it’s not 20 years ago anymore. Players have a lot more power than they did, especially with social media (like it or not) blurring that line between the fans and the players. Obviously you need to set norms and rules, but there’s a reason there aren’t many asshole disciplinarian coaches like Marrone and Gase these days. Unless you’re a franchise transforming coach you really need to be adaptable (and the reason a lot of those franchise transforming coaches were such is because they weren’t stubborn to a fault with system).

I don't see the humor here unless we are to believe that Keyshawn is the same man today and hasn't learned a thing since he was a young Jets receiver who made a name, and a slogan for himself because he wasn't getting what he thought was a fair share of the work. Who better to pass along some experience gained wisdom than a guy who was in the same place years ago and got beyond it quite successfully. Teams should hire him to talk to young players.

There is an educated opinion shared by fans, coaches, players, ex-players across many outlets though. Then there's the opinion that Moore wants to be traded because he doesn't want to play with Wilson.

    Gotta agree with Zack here.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34839826/frustrated-jets-wr-elijah-moore-excused-practice

"Quarterback Zach Wilson said he "will just keep encouraging [Moore]. We love him. I know how important he is to this team. We'll do everything we can. We're winning games; we're having a lot of fun; and we'll just keep learning and growing and letting him know I need him."

Wilson, explaining Moore's decline in production, said the Jets simply haven't been throwing as much -- only 39 attempts the past two games.

"It's not a thing where I'm trying to avoid him or whatever it is, because he's a great player," Wilson said. "I'm just going through my progressions. We're always talking about routes, how we can clean things up every week. It's being patient and trusting the process. I only had 10 completions last week, but we won the game, so it's awesome. I love him, and I hope he understands he's special to our team."

I've read 2 articles now both suggesting the Texans would be interested in trading Laremy Tunsil for Moore straight up.

    Thoughts?

That’s probably a no brainer if true, especially if MLF is going to be stubborn from here on out which I can totally see.
