Do you Jet fans think we can bounce back or are we toast? You guys imagine what Buffalo will do to us?
I think the game day thread is for this purpose. People just need to know that and decide whether they want to be part of it, but there's nothing wrong with over-reacting during the game, that's what most fans do. For myself I've chosen to just not go there now. It's too schizophrenic, and the comments in the heat of the moment aren't reliable to make any judgments from.
I was referring to last year. people were calling him on the hot seat already. Also missing your starting QB is always huge. flacco doesn't win us the pitt game. zach avoiding like 10 would be sacks was huge in that win. we were averaging 13 PPG more with zach then we did with flacco. him taking early sacks because he had no mobility hurt. can't run when it's 2nd and 20 already then 3rd and 20. also the o-line was more in shambles during those 3 games so we couldn't run. moving AVT to RT, brown coming back, and herbig stepping us was huge for us
I think you can beat Buffalo as long as Rodgers is healthy and can find someone throw to. Defensively I think you match up well because you have a great secondary and if you can stop Buffalo's running attack - including Allen - and make Allen beat with his arm I think you can win.
I mean yea, there are prerequisites to being a good team. Win more than you lose over the course of a full season. Beat some good teams along the way if your scheduled permits it (which ours does). Make the playoffs. Be an actual threat in the playoffs. Good teams do those things. The Jets haven’t done those things in over a decade. The Jets are in 3rd place in the AFC and clearly a team on the rise. They should enjoy it. Everyone should, but it you can’t admit that their real tests are coming up in the form of the Patriots and the Bills then I don’t know what to tell you.
And I'm saying if they beat those teams more shit will be added on to have them qualify as good. It's never good enough for some people. This team won a whopping 4 games last year and they were blown out in a lot of them. Rome wasn't built in a day. They beat Pitt and GB on the road. The finally beat an AFC East team. It's coming along. No one said we're there yet.
You’re getting bent because some of us aren’t ready to anoint this team then saying they’re not there yet.
Yeah, we all can see the number; what we can't see is the double secret, patented methodology of using (according to them) highly trained mopes as volunteers to make subjective calls on what that number should be. Having QW1 at the top of the class this week would be validation of their method; having him out of the top five exposes the flaws in their system. Edited to add: What we also can't see is how often they change grades, and why. It seems like the more scorn they get, they more they will abandon their "system" they tout so heavily to go along with the crowd. That's like weaseling out, isn't it? Now PFF says Jets' Quinnen Williams actually played great vs. Packers (elitesportsny.com)
