It is Brett Rypien. Like I mentioned earlier, I hope this isn't Mike White 2.0 the other way around. What if he actually sparks the team? lol Broncos had Bridgewater last year I think.

We are better off playing Wilson. We know his strengths a weaknesses, some of our D players know him well from the past, plus he is struggling making the offense click, he is kind of calling his own plays but not on the same page with his receivers yet. Keep him close to the pocket and we have a good chance. I want the predictable element on our side. Give me Wilson.

You gotta have some luck during the season to win it all--playing a teams backup or for whatever reason the opposing team is down is a lucky break. F the haters.

Part of being a good team is being able to put a competitive team out on Sunday even through injury...it's part of the game as we all know from past years.

Rypien beat us last time we played him. Let’s not count the chickens before they hatch, just saying…

Saleh better make sure they come to play. We need to thrash them convincely early - so we can bring on the NE, BUF, bye, NE. These next 5 weekends will decide our season.

Maybe they'd be interested in trading for Zach Wilson. Douglas could get a haul for a guy who many question will ever amount to anything! Do it Joe! /S

Brett Rypien beat the Jets in 2020. With the way Russell is playing and some of the stories coming out about him, I wonder if a change in QB could spark some life in that team.

So yeah, my initial reaction to Russell not playing is relief, but I think this could actually be a good thing for Denver

If the Jets continue their hard nose defensive play and set the tone early, it will matter little who the starting QB is for Denver. With Russ at the helm, the Broncos offense is last in points scored per game, so not really catching much of a break if he doesn't play. A little early to tell if Russ is washed up, but the trade with Seattle is beginning to look like it may reduce the Mile High franchise to the lowest of lows for the next few seasons.

Was Russ in such a hurry to renegotiate his contract with the Seahawks because he knew his skills were in rapid decline? If so, it appears Seattle also knew this, since they refused to extend him and unloaded him for a premium before anyone else became wise to Wilson's inability to continue to continue his high level play. This trade is reminiscent of the Cowboys/Vikings Herschel Walkers trade, which completely turned around one franchise, transforming them into a virtually instant dynasty, and leaving the other one still in search of their first Super Bowl trophy a couple decades later.

That was a completely different team and he wouldn’t have the same luck this time. That being said I’m guessing Wilson will tough it out and play….and he’ll be a little hobbled.

Yes these next 4 games are extremely important. If the Jets can split them and have a 6-4 record going into the final 7 games they will be looking good….

Interesting theory and it makes sense. Carroll is no dummy ….

If this is true, then why is Wilson declining so early, and how could the Seahawks have known it would happen? He's only 33, and he doesn't play in a way that's excessively demanding on his body. IMO it's more likely a combination of a small sample, Hackett being a shitty coach, and Wilson's head not being in the right place.

They didn’t extend him - most teams extend their franchise QBs. Perhaps Carroll and the coaching staff recognized declining skills? It’s speculation on JoeWaltons part but it does make sense. Something isn’t right with Wilson. Yeah new team, bad coach etc I understand that. But franchise QBs usually rise above some of that ….

It is a small sample size but it’s growing larger every week.

It’s not like they drafted a Trevor Lawrence or Zach Wilson, etc. they replaced him with a 32 year old Geno Smith …. they seemed content with letting him go. Why?

That’s what Russel Wilson’s offense is producing this season.

Him being out may help them more than it hurts.

Then again, with a Hacket calling their family famous runrunpasspunt every series it may not matter who they have behind center.

I predict we hear before Friday that Rypien will start. Unfortunately for Denver, we will not be taking him lightly. Our D is too young, hungry, and joyful. Sorry, Denver.

And so the onus will be on Wilson to be mistake-free, and the rest of the offense to stay team-oriented. If we stay disciplined, selfless, and mistake-free, we'll break them.

This is the first time in like ten years I'm letting my Jets balls swing.
