Hi everyone! I don't make threads anymore ever, and usually just lurk, but today's a special day for me. It's the one time every 8 years I get to drive down the road and see a Jets game. I did not expect to win. I just wanted a good game, and to have fun. Well.. it was slightly awkward. The fans were stunned, and quiet. I wanted to cheer, and holler, but I wanted to be humble still. It briefly rained, which was great Wisconsin weather for football. The main thing I wanted to say is great fucking job Jets fans for coming out. I couldn't believe how many other fans I saw. No other Jets fans were dicks, everything was cool, I had a great time. We deserve this guys! Anyone that was at the game also please let me know how your experience was. NYJ ambassador in Wisconsin... Allow me to chime in here. For those of you who don't know the OP he is a Jets fan from Wisconsin. He is not Newyorker and has no ties to here. He just fell in love with Jets afar. He was a frequent member a while in back but didn't post much lately but he is a crazy Jets fan like us. He was at the game today. @NYJalltheway I am more happy for you than for myself. You deserved this. Hope it was a great game day experience for you up there.
what a great day for you. What was it about the Jets you fell in love with? The long history of winning? lol
Thanks for repping us!!! Glad to hear there were JETS fans there to enjoy the great victory. Quick question...why are you covering your Jets shirt with a Bills jacket????
The short version is I was a kid and the Broncos were really good so I liked them in the 90s, and my best friend also liked Denver, I wanted to be independent all along, it was the end of the season, and the Jets beat the Raiders (who I hated) and made the playoffs because of it, I fell in love with that team, Martin, Vinny, Coles, Wayne, Penny, Moss. It just seemed to me I should be my own person with my own favorite team, and thus it began. I'm also loyal to a fault, and when we started to be awful every year I truly wanted to pick a new team, but I was too invested by then. Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
Lol it's dead ass my work sweatshirt. I couldn't find my Jets gear cuz it was pretty last minute. Plus my room is messy as hell. Now for the fun part.. watching the game back on dvr. Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
So I was there too…I grew up in NY so long time Jets fan but I’ve lived in LA since the 1980s and now I also spend time in Austin, Texas. Long story short, mommy wife and I are doing a Stadium Tour where we want to see a game in every stadium. At the last minute we decided to fly up to GB and get to this game…first time at Lambeau. I’ll say this…everyone was super nice, no crap from anyone, and man there were LOTS of Jets fans. It was great to see. so a few thoughts from me: it rained a bit in the first half but hardly much at all…never more than a drizzle, so hard for me to blame the rain for much, but I guess it probably made the grass a bit slippery. our DL looked dominant…busting up running plays, 4 sacks…all great to see. Defense played a solid game all game. that first play where Sauce had the pick six…on the stadium replay it sure looked like the receiver had his hand under the ball…looked like a pick six to me. that weird unsportsmanlike penalty that gave them a first down was odd…it wasn’t really explained on the field or if it was I couldn’t hear any of it, but just felt like total BS. Zach did not look good at all for the first half. Watching it live it just feels like there is no rhythm… we have plenty of good receivers and maybe it’s trying to feed too many mouths but just felt like nothing ever got started. We need to get 17 the ball more. Not sure why we don’t run crossing routes with Moore… Still seeing way too many dives into the line for 1 or 2 yards in first down. At one point he was 6 of 14…that’s just awful. To his credit, he didn’t turn the ball over and he made that one great throw to Davis at the right time, but he needs to improve. I’m still not sold on him but shit, the most important stat is winning and he’s 3-0 so far so he gets credit for that. the blocked punt / TD was beautiful…Clemons is a beast. That put us up by 14 but what I loved is that after GB cut it to 17-10 that stadium was ROCKING. But like a good team will do, we scored on the next drive to take back momentum. It was great. overall very happy with the win…today it was defense and special teams … Zach did just enough…love that we are finding ways to win. I’ll also say that I wanted an OT at 4 instead of Sauce, not because didn’t like Sauce but because I though OL was a bigger need, but man am I glad to eat crow on this one…the kids a stud. And with Reed on the other side, we haven’t seen corner play like this since the Revis Cromartie days…very impressive
It was the 2000 season opener - Testaverde hit Curtis Martin for the go ahead TD and then Victor Green picked off Favre to preserve the win. That was not the last time the Jets won there though - they beat them in Dec 2006. Funny thing CBS showed a stat on the screen today at the end of the game that it was the first Jets win in Lambeau since 2006. I’m not sure why that needed to be relayed on the screen. The Jets had only played there once since then - a loss in 2014. We all know interleague matchups are now only played once every 8 years in each home field.
Michael Clemons also commented on seeing the Jets fans there, and it feeling like a home game, plus Breece got to do the Lambeau leap - the team definitely noticed and appreciated your support! Sent from my IN2015 using Tapatalk
Sauce commented on it as well. Fans really must’ve have been there in force, and must have been loud.
Flying home today and I don’t want to. The whole area is just enjoyable… nice people, it’s quiet, food options galore. And of course the stadium is in a class of its own. Everyone sitting near us couldn’t have been more friendly with the exception of one fuckhead who was plastered and talking shit the whole game. But not the fun kind, the “I hope you accidentally fall off the escalator from the upper deck” kind. Every single play he was screaming about how #4 (Reed) is the worst CB in the NFL and Lazard should be thrown to every single play because “4 is ass”. He used more colorful language obviously in front of a bunch of kids nonetheless. Also spilled his dumb girlfriends beer all over me and my wife. But I kept the receipts and that motherfucker had a miserable last 5 minutes of the game. I made sure of it. Added to the whole experience. By the end of the game Packers fans were high giving and congratulating me. They killed me with kindness. Everyone kept apologizing for him and saying they hope we remember everything else about Lambeau which we absolutely will. Bucket list trip and it didn’t disappoint in any way.
