Does anyone have any hobbies that they are really into? I know @Cman65 @stinkyB are into fishing as well as I am. There are a few others that are into hunting and target shooting. There's at least one guy that's into collecting sports memorabilia. What else do we got?
For me it’s playing guitar, tinkering with guitar electronics, running ,weights, minor remodeling around the house. I have quite a bit of sports memorabilia, but don’t collect anymore.
I've been into music since I was a kid. In highschool I was in a band and I played bass. I own a Rickenbacker 4001 that I got as a Christmas gift in 1983. I also own a Les Paul Studio, a Yamaha electric and an American made Stratocaster. I also have a beautiful Martin acoustic that has been in my friend's possession for 10 years or so. I never took lessons and I'm not very good. One of these days I'll really knuckle down and take some lessons.
That’s awesome. There are lots of good courses online these days, not expensive and you can do it at your own pace. That Rick is probably worth a good amount
I'd never sell it. It was my first good instrument and it was a gift from my parents who have both passed. It still plays really well. I'm decent at bass. Guitar was always the instrument I struggled with. I'm terrible with a pick.
I go to garage sales and estate sales and buy old watches. The thrill of the hunt can be quite profitable. Not a bad side hustle.
I own about 15 watches but nothing worth more than a grand with the exception of my grandfather's Patek Philippe from the mid 50's. While it's not my style, I'd never sell it. The last appraisal I got was around $35k.
surfing (#1 until my body says no mas) fishing woodworking (started a new avenue with this, the past year) art / painting / drawing music (dont play despite owning a guitar, but I do like going to live shows!)
bickety I have ADHD... Maybe that's why I can't hold a hobby. But I admire folks who do. Thanks for starting this thread. Favorite brand?
Drums, guitar, soccer (playing recreationally and watching/following), board games, magic (card game that I play online, GEEK ALERT I know), map collecting. Used to collect comics as a kid and still have a couple boxes from the 70's and 80s. Fantasy football and premier league.
I still play the old guitar now & then. Always fascinating, when I don't play for a while, getting the fingers moving again. But, what I'm really into, & don't do as much as I'd like to (live in city)... Astronomy. Nothing like looking out there, on a clear dark night. Puts everything in proper perspective, & makes all the everyday BS vaporize. The first time I saw another galaxy in a small telescope, live, I couldn't stop staring... literally mind-blowing...
