Dean is too short for round one.

Sign me up in round two though.

Stingley at ANY pick is a no go for me, let alone the first pick. Then the first offensive skill player isn't until Round 3, and the next one until their last pick (in your mock)?

    Canton, China maybe.

This time I really think I caught lightning in a bottle.

I had to work the phones pretty hard to get these picks.

I even got a first round linebacker for K'OB:

    First Round

15 Travon Walker EDGE Georgia 6'5" 275 lbs

Walker helped the Bulldogs win a national championship and put up unreal numbers at the combine. John Abraham the sequel.

18 Devin Lloyd LB Utah 6'3" 237 Utah lbs

Not only can Lloyd play multiple positions but he is unit. Has the strength and speed to make teams pay on all three downs.

29 Trent McDuffie CB Washington 5'11 193 lbs

Has the size of a safety with a 4.44 40 time. Very productive player with plenty of tape to prove it.

30 George Karlaftis EDGE Purdue 6'2" 266 lbs

Another player with amazing tape with 41 sacks in his college career

    Second Round

    35 Tyler Linderbaum OC Iowa

Prototypical center that can man the line for the next decade.

    36 Devonte Wyatt DT Georgia

Jordan Davis had a flashier combine but Wyatt is also a national champion and the best DT in this draft.

    Third Round

73 Kenneth Walker III RB Michigan State 5'9 211 lbs

One of the top two RBs in this class Rushing for 3,485 yards and 41 TDs and 89 broken tackles.

77 Leo Chenal LB Wisconsin 6'3" 250 lbs

Another powerful linebacker with speed that can make opposing offenses pay.

93 Brian Asamoah II LB Oklahoma 6'0" 226 lbs

Undersized but a sure tackler with great speed and instincts.

    Fourth Round

    134 Bryan Cook S Cincinnati 6'1" 206 lbs

Low risk player who can play both safety spots and seems to do everything well.

First, you took 3 LBers, a position Saleh says he doesn't even need upgrading at. Secondly, where's our WR?

I think the "lightning" missed the bottle and hit your noggin.

The value just was not there at any of my picks.

With all of those future picks we could always get our WR later through free agency, trade, or next year's draft.

The draft is about maximizing talent.

Free agency is for filling holes.

It's not that cut and dried. You can't just accumulate talent at a few positions and leave big holes elsewhere. That's how Macc tried to do it. You have to get balance.

I hadn't taken that into consideration tbh but yes at 30 it would probably be worth taking the chance.

I only took two players on offense but they are both starting quality players.

With our new RB tandem, two new tight ends and a revamped offensive line Zach and our now healthy receiver core will not be expected to do all of the heavy lifting.

Free agency is still ongoing and many veterans will shake loose as teams draft their replacements.

Preseason is still four months away.

Decided to do a no-trade one here with PFF. I know you can't take the visits as gospel, but Diesch is the only one who the Jets didn't have a visit with and/or coach during the Senior Bowl.

    4. Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Oregon
    10. Jameson Williams, Wide Receiver, Alabama
    35. Travis Jones, Defensive Interior, UConn
    38. Jaquan Brisker, Safety, Penn State
    69. Troy Andersen, Linebacker, Montana State
    111. Kellen Diesch, Tackle, Arizona State
    117. Marquis Hayes, Guard, Oklahoma
    146. Pierre Strong Jr., Running Back, South Dakota State
    187. Jaylen Watson, Cornerback, Washington State

I think Diesch will be a good prospect to train up and come good in 2-3 years.

Macs inability to evaluate talent eliminates him from any comparison to our current staff.

On paper those first five picks seem to fill our biggest needs at present.

Did one today where it has us picking 6th.

    6. Noah Sewell LB Oregon
    37. Sedrick Van Pran OC Georgia
    69. Tyler Davis DT Clemson
    105. Derick Hall Edge Auburn
    137. Rakim Jarrett WR Maryland
    169. Harrison Mevis K Missouri

The last one was considered a reach, but I read up on him and apparently he's always played at a high level. Our kicking game could use some stability.

Was getting better results when we were picking fourth instead of sixth but was very happy with this one:

    11. Will Anderson Jr. EDGE Alabama Height: 6-4 | Weight: 235 (Third rated player on the board)
    37. Matthew Bergeron OT Syracuse Height: 6-5 | Weight: 327 (35th ranked)
    42. Malachi Moore CB Alabama Height: 6-0 | Weight: 182 (33rd ranked)
    63. John Michael Schmitz OC Minnesota Height: 6-4 | Weight: 320 (44th ranked)
    Tennessee Titans first rounder
    Tennessee Titans second rounder

    Traded # 6, 105 & 137 to Titans for # 16, # 48, # 80 & first and second round picks next year
    Traded # 16, # 69 & our third rounder next year for # 11
    Traded # 48 from Titans, # 69 & our fifth rounder next year for # 42
    Traded # 80 & picks 4, 6 & 7 next year for # 63

    Not a bad haul.
