I voted no. All we have to go on right now is a bad rookie season and an offseason where most reports indicated he seemed to improve. Gonna have to see how that "improvement" translates to Sundays before I lose any faith in him.
Just post all of your shite in one thread ffs Do we need 900 Zach Wilson threads? @Brook! Please merge
I haven't lost faith in the guy. I just hope he can stay healthy so we can make a full assessment on his ability and how he will fit with this team going forward. While I haven't lost faith in him, I have temper my expectations about Zach.
It wont though, he's going to miss half the season, if/when he does play it likely look the same (inconsistent) and we will be the in same place we were this offseason. "Is he good?" "kinda not really?" "Idk, he needs to play more to truly evaluate." "so we waste another year?"
Not sure where the half the season is coming from, unless it’s coming from Saleh’s words “the earliest” is week 4? if he makes it back for Pittsburgh then it’s only 3 games missed…that’s very different than missing half a season at 8 or 9 games…however based on Saleh’s lack of honesty so far with this, and based on the whole Becton thing last year, I get where we may be assuming that he won’t make it back for Pitt In any case, if he looks no better than he did last year then I’m out on him..he needs to show much better or else the chances of him improving get really slim….a bad rookie year I can look past…two such bad years not so much
Even if he's back for Pittsburgh, Wilson is injury prone and its a long season. Lets see if he accumulates 10 starts this season
Franchise QB is a cliche. Is Matt Stafford one? Heck, Joe Flacco's team won a SB. Getting caught up in labels like that is not helpful especially for a second year player.
There were red flags coming out after the draft. There were red flags during preseason and now this extended absence is another. With the rookie salary cap, it means you have to make a decision quickly about whether this is the guy or not. I, quite frankly, don't think he is.
It's okay to say you are worried about Zach being able to stay healthy or worried he can't make all the right reads when looking at a defense, but to say he is a bust and you are done with him makes no sense. His career has barely even started yet. Also, and this appears to be a NEWSFLASH to some posters on here, but Zach Wilson actually looks pretty good at QB. He has a rocket arm. He improved each week last year. He cares about football, which is important too. And to the people who point to his 2 drives in the Eagles game to act like he is a bad QB: get real. That meant absolutely nothing, except the part where he hurt himself. That was unfortunate. He will be fine though. The more I thought about it today, I am happy they are waiting until he is 100% to return. We all want him on the field, but this is the smart decision. The problem was how Saleh relayed the info to fans.
