Strev is not playing against real NFL competition. Please stop the nonsense already. He's a gadget QB. #3 at best. MW should be our starter until Zach comes back. Flacco should be cut, that INT was pure trash. Why are starting a guy who has never won a game for us to-date???
We’ll never know. He has a game like that , and only gets one chance to repeat it, while if he were drafted higher , would get up to 2 years to sink or swim.
Funny, but I got that same vibe today. Flacco really looked like he was just going thru the motions today. You'd think this being his first action of '22, he'd have shown just a bit more excitement and emotion but not Joe Cool.
Neither did Flacco. White looked like shit against the ATL starters and honestly, didn't look much better against their 2's. At least Streveler actually played with passion and excitement. Its not his fault he wasn't put in against the ones but to his credit, he kicked ass against the guys he was playing against. That's a coaching decision as they needed Flacco to play before opening day. He's running Lefleur's offense better than both Flacco AND White so if Streveler is a gadget QB, then our system is a gadget system. Streveler has beaten every team he's played against so far this season and the Jets would be 0-3 otherwise.
Once they took the mid-range stuff away from White, it was back to earth for him. So far this preseason, he's been at best mediocre so he might be gifted the QB3 spot anyway due to his contract. He's been outplayed so far by Streveler but money talks..
White was playing behind our second string line against Atlanta's starters. Steveler has only faced 4th and 5th stringers, and even then you can clearly see his problems. Streveler's playtime is to verify who makes the PS and who is selling insurance. Why are folks putting so much stock in the 4th quarter of presaeason games? Come back to reality.
If he clears waivers, then its up to Strev to sign with whatever teams offer a spot on the PS. We lost (not a big deal) James Morgan is this way as I recall.
With Flacco starting week 1 and Zach out with his bum leg, how do we cut both of them? Who would back up Flacco week 1? But isn't the play by Streveler exactly what you want to see out of a 3rd QB? He isn't going to be getting reps with starters. If a series of injuries force him into emergency action you want a guy whose first instinct is to tuck the ball and scramble for a first down or run some gadget play that keeps the chains moving.
I can't shake the comparison between Streveler and Kurt Warner. Both were "banished" to the wilderness, but both kept fighting. Warner too was a scrambler/gunslinger which is why so many of his coaches didn't like him. It took a coach that saw his talent and what he could do - win - to have the patience to develop him. IDK if we have that kind of coaching talent, but we should. Flacco has served his purpose: show Zach how to run an NFL offense (even if he wasn't actually mentoring him). See what you can get for him and go with Zach, White, and Streveler.
Streveler has been on other NFL teams before. He has a played against NFL talent. He didn’t even beat out Colt McCoy for the backup job. And Kingsbury knows more than anyone on here about QBs including our own coach staff too. You guys are just shocked by decent QB play in preseason as a Jets fan.
I like Streveler and would be fine keeping him over Flacco. Whats great about him is his enthusiasm and fire. We've been severely lacking that.

Exactly, and as far as the Kurt Warner comparison I saw earlier. Warner was cut from the Green Bay Packers that had Brett Favre and Mark Brunell in the room not Colt McCoy's of the world. Streveler is a great story and I'm all about a good story, but lets be real. He's just a nice story plain and simple.
If we can't be happy for 3 straight 4th qtr comeback wins, then not only reality sucks, but our QB situation sucks, our OL situation sucks, our OC situation sucks and of course since we run a gadget system, it sucks too. That's the reality.. White sucks, Flacco couldn't give a shit and Zach has issues staying healthy. We have a guy that wins games with scrub talent and people shit on him because he hasn't played with the starters as if he had a choice in that.
