Divisional note, the tears from Red Sox Nation are in full flow: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.es...t-bike-accident-remainder-season?platform=amp
I'd like to think Clarke Schmidt is in AAA because they're trying to make him a starter. But I don't actually think that...
The other Yankees fans at work didn't believe me when I said the All Star Break would kill our momentum. This is embarrassing.
Yankees getting blanked by a guy who Red Sox fans openly laugh about having on the team. Out pitching Montas. We may see a historic collapse. 2 plus months and they look just as bad
That base running play was absolutely atrocious by a great player in Bogaerts. Chapman was giving up a run one way or another if he didn’t pick him off there.
I really hope they right this ship, but I don’t have any confidence right now that they can even compete with playoff teams.
The lineup needs Stanton back very badly. Carpenter filled that gap for a bit and played way over his head and now that he’s out there’s realistically no feared hitter in the 3/4 hitter. They need to reinvent the lineup when that happens but it seems they’re terrified that Judge is going to spit up on himself and go full retard if he doesn’t hit in the two hole.
Hicks and Torres have to go. The longer the keep Torres, the less value he has. I've been saying trade him for almost 2 years. This is a team filled with players that are on the team because they are Cashman guys that he bet big on and haven't worked out... But we just keep trotting them out
Yankees may have figured out how to make a lineup, putting Benintendi leadoff. The real test will be when DJ is back and if they bat him after, or before, Judge or put a bunch of scrub hitters before him and have him bat 6th. Not sure where they get the idea judge will melt if he's not 2nd, but a lot of teams are batting their best hitter 2nd these days according to some analyst. the most sense is Benintendi/Judge/DJ/Stanton/struggling Rizzo/crap I don't care they lead the league in scoring, they score 40 plus runs against teams like the Cubs in 3 gamesd. Idk, you think of the last 2-3 years of the Yankees offense really not being good, the lineup construction in terms of the pieces available and how they don't even seem to be put in properly 1-9... Not sure I can blame Boone for that because I don't think he's making either of those decisions. We have a GM that likes to play manager, and it's clear he has absolutely no feel for the game and is just going by numbers that fit the narrative of the guys he gets. For example, nobody on planet earth would agree with a Yankee lineup with all righties.. had that for over a year. Nobody thought Hicks was worth a dime, but he's got stats that say otherwise. Apparently not eyes I can imagine it'll be another 1-2 years of gleyber before we finally move on after he's become worthless. He will milk his existence on the Yankees for the chance he becomes what he was supposed to be so cashman can say he got gleyber for a rental then resigned Chapman.
