Had the privilege of seeing them live in a club in Raleigh, must have been 2007. Place only holds about 750 people. Great Band!
Rest in peace, Kelly Joe... a truly great American artist that never got the recognition he deserved... and shied away from praise bestowed.
@Acad23 For me, I love discovering "new" bands and some of these bands are from the '70s that I've never heard before. Here's an example:
Nice find...The prolific Bob Ezrin was the producer and mixed the record as well. I wouldn't be surprised if that's Rick Derringer playing slide guitar on that cut. That album is notable because of Dick Wagner... great guitar player who later went on to play with Alice Cooper and many others. He was also, with Steve Hunter (another great player)... the guitar duo that made Lou Reed's "Rock & Roll Animal" one of the best live rock records ever. Little known fact... Billy Joel was the keyboard player in Ursa Major for a short time.
Hey @Savatage ... here's another progressive band from the '70's that never really caught on... but they kept chuggin' along.
You can get the full history of Captain Beyond at progarchives.com. They're ain't kidding when they say they are the most complete progressive music source. Still ad free. This Captain beyond album is rated 4.0. Pink Floyd and King Crimson have probably the two highest rated albums at 4.6. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=795&ved=2ahUKEwjY1tz33J_4AhUEC94KHecbBMsQFnoECAYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2xbsk1xEZGDVbM3fDL6Ptr
