All sarcasm now but in October/November, the offensive line will be your excuse for the QB and the win/loss record
I just can't fathom how someone is pretending they want to have a serious conversation based off the assumption that two guys will be injured 4 months from now.
You probably said the same thing 9 months ago when Becton went down though Its ludicrous to be positive about his prognosis for week 1, especially when even the staff doesn't know his status since he's sitting at home. They are paying his salary and they dont know! You are just a guy on the internet
Link for this story? And I've been as down as anyone on Becton since the second we drafted him. I didn't want him. I still wish we never drafted him. That doesn't mean I'm going to make illogical assumptions about him.
I give Daniel Kelly credit for his story going from a nobody to NFL scout and for using his brief time as a scout to allow him a platform to rant against the Jets. How many anti-Jets articles does this guy produce each spring? He has been on a roll lately especially with his anti-ZW articles. He may or may not be right about ZW, JJ, Ruckert and others but what is obvious is he seems to hold a grudge and is upset that no team will consider hiring him especially the Jets. He knows bashing the Jets and JD will give him visibility. Once again it is about page hits. This guy is a broken a record and just writes anti-Jets articles using his failed short scouting career as authority. It works it gives him a platform and maybe a few dollars and it will keep working until the Jets prove him wrong and start winning. But, it is does not make his brand of gutter journalism any less abhorrent. There are the Cimini's, Mehta's, NJ.com and ESPN of this world that focus on page hits and misleading headlines over substance but they still do some actual journalism. Daniel Kelly just writes for the purpose of giving Daniel Kelly attention.Pretty shocking and sad that SI is giving him a platform and credibility.
Someone tweeted me some info about Daniel Kelly after I responded to one of his tweets. Let's just say it all adds up. Anti-vax Evangelical Once did a mock where he ended it by saying God is the number 1 overall pick And we haven't even touched the football opinions yet.
"None of this bolds well for Wilson..." Should I take a guy who is supposedly a writer/journalist seriously when he doesn't even know the phrase is "bodes well"? I'm sorry I linked to the article and added to his "hits". Sure, some or all of those problems may arise, but there is no way that Douglas failed to address major holes in the roster. This may come as a shock to the Daniel Kelly's of the world (and the dark siders here) that you can't build a team from a complete tear down in two off seasons. And the NFL did us no favors in the schedule they gave us, but in the long run, Douglas will be proven right in his approach. OTOH, if he fails, all those who have been saying he sucks and has failed, can take great satisfaction in saying "I told you so!", which I'm sure will be much more satisfying than winning a SB.
This isn’t how the NFL works (results and wins based) but this year is another rookie heavy one and that doesn’t bode well for our record. That being said, there needs to be close games and progress in the wins department.
It’s also true that last year Zach made his OL worse by holding the ball to long looking for hero plays. They both need to play better this year.
Since when is former scout for the Jets a flex? I wouldn’t want my name near a lot of those past drafts.
Wow, now his articles and his tone makes a lot more sense. Thanks for information. In case anyone is wondering how out of touch Daniel Kelly is with the NFL here is his mock draft from this year. As one can see his mock draft is also far out in left field, seeking attention and likely made for page hits by making controversial picks. https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-drafts/2022/si-2022-daniel-kelly?date=2022-04-17
It’s shitty clickbait nonsense to title the article to state Joe Douglas “built” a last place team. Seriously low level hack reporting. Having said that, this is a last place team and if you’re onboard with how JD is building the team then that shouldn’t bother you either. We drafted 4 guys in the 1st and 2nd round that are going to be the starters day one. Our QB struggled mightily as a rookie. While even I expect him to improve, it’s not likely he’s gonna be lighting the world on fire by any means. And to the article’s point, we’re an injury away from having nothing at LT or RT when one of those guys we’re counting on is about as unreliable as it gets this far in his short career. With the exception of Fant, the veterans on this team are all underperforming or have huge question marks. My honest hope is if we get lucky and 2 of the 4 picks turn out to be good players is that it’s G Wilson and Hall. More than anything else this season, wins included, we need to see signs from our offense and QB that we’re going to be competing amongst the top 10 offenses for years to come.
Well, this article definitely proves one thing. Hack reporters/attention whores are desperate to get people reading their drivel....
I don't know Browning... it seems to me you're intent on arguing? If you're not, you could simply stop the back and forth by replying to Zach and say, you can believe what you want but I have my thoughts as well.....
My own personal opinion says the CS should NOT worry about scheming the first 8 or so opponents. Just because the Jets have so many new faces. The Jets in particular, are a notoriously slow starting team. I think the Jets should worry about getting done the things they KNOW they can. Assuming they stay healthy, we know the Jets can get a productive running game going. We know Zach can build chemistry with all of the new receivers and TE's he has. We know the CS can get better at coaching, play calling on offense and defense, so on and so forth. For me that would a logical way of approaching this season...
I think this guy is just looking for attention and is giving clickbait takes, but I am not sure what his religious beliefs have anything to do with it?
This is a team which has finished in last place and gone winless against the rest of the division over the last two years. Let's see if things improve this upcoming season.
He's probably right in the sense that we'll probably finish in last, but he's also a shitty scout and a very annoying person.
