A healthy Williams is the only wide out I love in this draft, bad yr for a top ten wide out. Either you trade or you draft 1 in the second rd. !0 is an over reach in this draft for wide out
This was obvious though. Nobody In their right mind would make a trade as ridiculous as this. I know that opens up debate on some of the dumbest GM's we've seen. That's not the point though. The point. It's not debatable on If that trade was stupid or not.. It just was. Anyone that thought otherwise, was, just wrong.
The one that game up with that bullshit trade offer was some moron on NGL Network named Cynthia Freeland
I really hope we don't make a trade for Deebo. Stick to the game plan and build through the draft. If we get a pass rusher at 4 and Wilson or Williams at 10 I will be very happy. Deebo in addition to a boat load of draft picks is going to cost 100 million in guaranteed money. I don't think he is a top 5 receiver especially if you take away his use as a swiss knife chess piece.
Thanks for proving my point. His marketing acts are what may make him a laughing stock (I never saw Tebow as a serious onfield presence) but I see no indication whatsoever that it's a problem for him. Wins and losses are just what happen in a season - have you ever seen him seriously discuss getting better? Have you ever seen him angry, annoyed or frustrated? Where have you ever seen "super impatient"? And Woody didn't force "us" to do anything, we're just along for the ride - he gets to make dopey decisions like that because he owns the business.
Spending is relative, but the Bills were still bottom four in the league in spending for Allen’s second year. I think they found their assurances within that season.
At this point my feelings are that if the Jets can get him for the 10 and maybe a 2023 mid round pick, okay, but otherwise I'd rather they hold onto to their resources and and apply them to building the team. While adding Deebo would certainly provide and immediate and major upgrade to the offense, anything beyond what I suggested above is likely to become cost-ineffective. Think about it: As great a boon Deebo would be to our young QB Wilson, aren't the NIners in the exact same position? So why would they even consider taking that away from Lance? The only two reasons I can think of are: 1. They know something about him physically or attitude-wise that they don't want to deal with going forward. 2. There's nothing wrong with him at all, but if SF were offered a ridiculous return they would take it. Neither works in the Jets favor.
Samual is basically doing a worse version of what Adams did to us. Both wanting to be a top paid player while still under rookie contracts. Except Adams' knock on us was we weren't committed enough to winning - which was sort of true with the Johnsons. Samual just doesn't want to be on the west coast. Its the same situation but were all upset at Adams and drooling over Deebo. I wouldn't give up a single thing more than the 10 for him.
Deebo is more valuable than Adams was. A stud WR contributes more than a stud Safety. That said, as I explained wouldn't give up much more than the 10.
Do we know this? How? The reports I've seen suggest he isn't happy at being used extensively as a running back, which I can understand. I'll be happy if we get him; I'll be happy if we take one of the good WRs in the draft.
It's odd now with all these off-season rumors. Struck out on Hill. Now all this speculation on Samuel. If the Jets end up with London or Wilson instead, it will look like a failure, but I would not feel that way. It just means JD has been looking for a WR1 for Zach and was hoping to skip the learning process a rookie WR has to go through.
