All just a bit of a laugh on a computer sim, think it was less than 40% chance to be accepted lol Not even just a second, a trade of seconds
Give me a minute It won't let you trade for every player, even if you offered them the earth but still some good players but not a lot of picks left for 2023 (bar round 1 and 2)
I am really happy with this draft. I traded away our third rounder next year but got five future picks I think I needed to be fitted with my gold HOF jacket for this one: Round One 16 Derek Stingley Jr. CB LSU 6''0" 190 lbs Helped lead his team to a national championship with six interceptions as a starter in his freshman year before battling injuries. Incredible value here with Gardener going off the board at # 7. 19 George Karlaftis EDGE Purdue 6'4" 226 lbs Not as flashy as a couple other pass rushers at the combine but put up excellent tape with fourteen sacks in his college career. Fifth pass rusher off the board. 30 Tyler Linderbaum OC Iowa 6'2" 296 lbs Insane value here as he can start one day one and man the center spot for the next decade. Round Two 35 Devonte Wyatt DT Georgia 6'3" 304lbs Wyatt had a good combine with a 4.77 40 yard dash while his teammate stole the show. Easily the best defensive tackle in this class and has no business falling to round two. 49 David Ojabo EDGE Michigan 6'3" 250 lbs Injury gives us an opportunity to take the seventh pass rusher off the board. Ojabo had a 4.55 40 yard dash at the combine and 11 sacks last year. He is a bit of a project but with Williams, Lawson, and Karlaftis ahead of him there we have time to develop this player 61 Jalen Pitre S Baylor 5'11" 198lbs Pitre has lateral quickness and is an effective blitzer that can play multiple positions in the backfield. Great value at the bottom of round two. Round Three 66 Skyy Moore WR Western Michigan 5'10" 190 lbs Blazing fast with 4.41 49 at the combine. Has 95 catches, 1,292 yards, and 10 TDs last year. Not as much draft hype as some of the taller receivers but Moore has broken an FBS high 26 tackles and is an absolute steal in round three. 87 Brian Asamoah II LB Oklahoma 6'0" 225 lbs At this point in the draft I was targeting Leo Chenal who was somehow on the board when I selected Skyy Moore. I tried to move up for him but couldn't find a trade where the value worked out. When he went off the board I was able to move down to 87 while adding draft capital. Instead of getting the linebacker I wanted I ended up with three of them. Asamouh is undersized his quickness has helped him put up some great tape. 97 Channing Tindall LB Georgia 6'2" 230 lbs Quick player and sure tackle helped Georgia win a national championship while overshadowed by flashier teammates Round Four 112 Darrian Beavers LB Cincinnati 6'4" 237 lbs Has the size and strength to allow scheme flexibility. Sure tackler with some pass rush ability. 127 Brian Robinson Jr. RB Alabama 6.1" 225 lbs Ran a 4.53 40 at the combine despite being built like a linebacker. Has the ability to break outside or punish defense by pounding the rock straght up the middle. Great compliment for Michael Carter. Future Picks 2023 PIT 1st - After using pick four to get two first rounders from New Orleans I was able to use pick 10 and other assets to get pick 20 and Pittsburgh's first two picks next year 2023 PIT 2nd 2023 SF 2nd - Got this pick when I traded down 61 in round two 2023 DET 4th - Moved down a couple spots in round three and got the extra pick. I think this might have cost me Leo Chanal. Got greedy here. 2023 ARI 5th - When Leo Chenal went off the board I moved down a couple spots in round three and nabbed an extra pick
No HOF jacket when you pick an injury-prone CB with our first pick , James and then follow it up with Karlaftis whose best season was in 2019, he is so boom or bust a prospect, bust if we draft him and boom if he goes anywhere else lol
I got both players using only one of our first rounders and you find fault? Tough room. I see you know your Jets history.
Lloyd went off at # 18 so I did not have the opportunity to take him over Karlaftis. After that I liked the value at DE over LB when I picked. No way I would take any of the LBs over Stingley.
I hate the Stingley pick, sorry, I would not be selecting him at all even if we needed a CB, maybe like Hall with a flyer in the 5th or 6th lol That injury is everything. ps what about Nakobe Dean?
Imagine our offense if we took Chase, Humphrey, and Freiermuth with our first 3 picks last year. And signed a vet who could be a bridge to the next FQB hopeful. Now, I know we were going QB at 2, but it's an alternative which could've been explored.
