This the 3rd or 4th time recently wherewe just lose it completely for a period and give up 4+ goal;s... wtaf?
Somebody kill me. Team needs to stop passing the damn puck 50 times. Not much you can do when you turn it over 11 times in a period.
Copp has two points, played well on the PK when he was on it, and won countless face offs. Braun on the other hand is fucking garbage.
Absolutely, positively no excuse for that "effort" last night. When the entire team doesn't show up, that falls entirely on the head coach.
oopah! I check the score at work and were up 3-0 then 10 mins later 4-0... for once we scored in a bunch and ...and now i just checked again its 4-1... i'll pray they dont scoe 3 in 4 mins like we been giving up...
That was a great team effort. Zibanejad is both great and under-rated. That's a really hard combo to pull off but he manages it somehow. One weakness: face-offs.
Is that this year or for his career? He’s seemed much better lately by my eye test. He was awful early in the season.
Zibanejad get dominated in the circle by a few guys. Not sure what the issue is because he's a strong stickhandler and he's very situationally aware in other circumstances.
both, actually. for me... 50% is... ok. sure, you'd like better... and liek everything else sometimes matchups are bad and he'll have trouble vs certain guys...
One of the things about face-offs is that 50/50 really does not imply being good at them. Lots of guys are mediocre in the circle and when you are 50/50 it's likely you do just fine against the mediocre guys and lose the face-offs against the guys who are really good at them. Patrice Bergeron has been between 54.6 and 62.3 face-off% in his career. He's one of the best face-off guys out there and never has a year where he approaches random chance on face-offs. Zibanejad has been between 44.0 and 52.0 in his career. This is actually one of his better seasons to date. The difference between the two of them is roughly 3 possessions a game, which is fairly large given that most face-offs occur deep in the offensive or defensive zones.
i didnt say 50 was good... its... 50/50... not a strength.... but to call it a weakness? not sure i'd go that far. on the ther hand your example is that for bergeron its a strength
Not 100% sure. Overall they are at 47.6% this year which is in the bottom 5th of the NHL. Last year they were at 44.5, which was the worst overall. I freaking love Zibanejad and I've always said he was one of the best players in the NHL. He's not a good face-off guy.
