This is a critical question... I am hoping that they wear whatever color pants they have had the most success in historically.
I have no Stats to prove this - but god it feels like we are like 4 - 20 when wearing the Horrid Green Pants. They are almost tolerable on the Road with the White Jersey but with the Green on Green - OH. Maybe I am a little Superstitious but I groan before every game I see them Wearing them.
On the road in postseason the Jets are 1-2 wearing green pants(the win over SD in '04, loss to Pitt in '04 and loss to Houston in '91) while w/ white pants on the road the Jets are 2-5(beating Cincy and LA in '81,losing at Miami in 92, at Cle in '86, at Den '98 and at Oak '01 and '02). We have a slightly better win % on road games w/ white pants BUT in 2 of thoe games we wore green jerseys(Mia '82, Cle '86) so in road games where we wore white jerseys and white pants we are 2-3:jets:
i dont like the green pants either. but i'd like them a whole lot more if we beat the pats tomorrow...i hope we aren't wearing them anyway
It seems as if we win our first playoff games wearing green... plus we beat NE this year wearing green... So I think we wear green the first game then switch to white for the remainder of the playoffs
I don't like the striped socks, I'd rather see the solid green socks but the striped socks(w/ the currrent uni's) made their debut at NE in 2002 when we beat them en route to the div title.
If white pants are good enough for Joe Willie, they're good enough for me. But even more important, what will the flag girls where for our opening home game next season?????
It's got to be white Ollie although if Mangini could pull it off I wreckon we could be in pink pants tomorrow to give Belichicken even more to think about.
We used to wear them every week when we wore white jerseys. from 1990-1996 we wore them just about every game w/ the white jerseys, I think there were a couple of games in '95 where we wore white and white. When BP took over in '97 we went back to white and white until 2002.
Well I was half joking when I started the thread... the other half is superstition more than fashion related
