Hurries can be better than sacks. They can lead to pick 6s or at least interceptions. They can get a QB out of his rhythm and lead to more and more incompletions and possibly wild throws, which can lead to interceptions. Sacks are NOT the be-all and end-all of DE play.
It's not just agents who look at hurries and pressures and pimp them to help their clients. NFL teams obviously consider them important as well.
He can make plays. High reward, low risk. I’m all for it. Our depth chart was looking pretty sad the other day. JD seems to be changing that every day.
guy has some natural pass rushing moves... fist some Texans fan who likes him does some breakdown then another clip
Off topic the GM also signed Tyler Conklin a FA TE who had his best year in Minnesota last year So ..this is turning out to be an above Average FA for the Jets and I here I was skeptical God I hope this pans out!
We all know this D line has a rotation, even if some people (myself included) question why it's such a high level of rotation. However, this dude could be our Shaw Barrett signing, or he could be the same dude we've read about. Either way, could just be here for 30-40% of snaps whilst we rotate Lawson, #4, JFM and show the ability to elevate that rotation compared to last year. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
They both look like rock stars. I would go with Lloyd for the simple reason the he projects as a Mike while Dean projects more as a Will. The FO invested in some developmental Will LB last year and I believe they want to give them a shot. JD has gone with a premium position the last 2 years with his 1st pick - by premium I mean the highest paid via FA - QB, LT, EDGE, CB, WR. Last year he picked a need position who could contribute right away with his other 1st - there are reports we are comfortable with our LBs, which is what they’d want to put out there if they are thinking of going LB. LB is a position which traditionally contributes right away. WRs usually need a year or two to develop. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets go into the draft with Moore as their #1 Davis as their #2 and pick up a WR in the 2nd (3rd year in a row) to develop. The other position which historically contributes right away is RB. Carter is a rock star but he’s only half of our starting backfield. We’ve been drafting RBs in the 4th and could definitely go that way again but a top RB in the 2nd would give this O a huge boost. I also see a world where Hutch falls to #4. Thibs “brand obsession” could be a good motivator here in the NYC market. Jokes aside, this is where I’m at right now: #4 EDGE #10- 15 LB #35 & 38 Watson and Hall
Basically just about every player/position is on the table except for QB/RB and probably TE in the first round. This ‘big trade’ rumor circulating around today could very well involve the #10 pick rather than a player swap….
Totally agree. Cimini now says OL is likely off the table in round 1-- Uh, I can see the jets easily going OL at 4 or 10. I could be wrong, but I think Douglas has concerns about Beckton long term (and short term). And I can see Douglas taking S Hamilton in round 1 despite signing S Whitehead. NONE of the safeties on the jets last year could tackle a RB or even take the correct angle.
