Didn't Joe Biden do fundamentally the same thing?

Placing his son Hunter on the board of a corrupt Ukrainian energy company to wring millions out the Ukrainian economy didn't make the US look "small and petty"... It simply made us look as corrupt and compromised as every other corrupt and compromised government.

As a coworker, some of the coolest girls I've ever met were Ukrainian.
It's Kinda like parts of the Caribbean, South America and around the world where things just don't look great, poverty, hard work, basic food and necessities and yet, Everyone is smiling, happy and living life and that's something that is soooo difficult for affluent people to understand so instead of trying to understand why they're happy, they'd rather make people miserable.

The world is about to go down because the rich aren't happy with money, they're happy with power. Miserable fux.

They are no joke and scoff at Putin, that's why he despises them...
This ain't about NATO, that's the excuse.

That's exactly correct. I assume there hasn't been enough wars for you in the last 20 years.

Putin was wacko in his war speech

he was also wearing the same suit with same background as his Monday speech, so the thought is that it was filmed then and this was all planned

What specifically do you wish Biden did differently? I can't imagine diversifying the military and talking about global warming made Putin go "Hey the US is weak now, let's invade Ukraine." Maybe you think Biden should have been more unpredictable in the hopes that would have deterred Putin? That's a very dangerous game though; it works the majority of the time, but when it doesn't the results are catastrophic. Or maybe you think Biden should have been tougher and more interventionist in general like a McCain or Romney Republican? If that's your opinion, I respect it. But it seems like most of Biden's critics have the opposite point of view, in some cases even to the extent of implicitly (if not explicitly) supporting Putin. Or am I missing something and you have a different opinion than what I've listed?

As Tusli Gabbard said the other day, they should have just agreed to make Ukraine a buffer zone. But they never cared about democracy and all that other BS they love to talk about, as it's all about geopolitics and sticking it to Putin. Who's gonna pay the price for their geopolitical games? Ukrainian people with their lives and us paying more for heating, gasoline, etc.

P.S. Both oil and natural gas are already up over 4%

I haven't heard that one before. Should this have been done in the last year? Or during the Trump administration? Or the Obama administration? And what would the specifics of this plan have been?

It's been going on for a while and finally reached boiling point. They wanted Ukraine to stay out of NATO, Biden did not agree. It's kinda like when USSR placed missiles in Cuba and we almost had a nuclear war. It's pretty much the same thing here. The crisis reached a point when Putin decided he wasn't going to back down no matter what. Here's the result.

    Putin's right here. Exactly.

Imagine if Canada allied with China and nukes were sitting on the US Border?

You all would be ok with that? sure

US provoked this and is responsible and now gets to deal with it.

Yes, our Deputy Assistant Secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition with a colorful private life is responsible for Putin thinking our military is weak and invading Ukraine. Come on, you're better than this.

Russia doesn't have the right to tell Ukraine what alliances to join or not to join. (For what it's worth, we didn't have the right to tell Cuba not to ally with the Soviets.) But if you think appeasing Putin on this issue would have prevented this war (which I'm not convinced of, but it may be true), then I respect that, at least from a strategic sense and not a moral one.

Ukraine doesn't have nukes. And if Canada allied with China or any other country, then of course it wouldn't be okay for the US to invade Canada.
