Doubt Hutchinson will be there and not sure Thibodeaux is a good pick at 4. Not really to excited about 2 names I keep hearing attached to the Jets, KT and Stingley

Stingley is not going to go on the #4. His injury history says he is a huge risk there. You don't take huge risks at the top of the draft unless you want to be sitting by watching somebody else in your job in a year or two.

I don’t think we have to work about stingley. That 4 pick is going to be a lineman, what side of the ball remains to be seen but saleh and jd have been steadfast in the message about building from the inside out.

I’m just going by recent history. The top 2 CBs have been gone by pick 9 the last couple years.

I've seen Stingley mocked to them a few times at 4 but the last few I've seen him drop a bit but again to the Jets at 10 which I still think is too big a risk. I'm ok with them building up the line more.

Over the next season or two the Jets needs include RT (possibly LT), RG, C, WR, TE (probably 2 although one is pure depth) and of course the elephant in the room.

On defense they need Edge, SS, FS, probably a CB and possibly an MLB depending on how Mosley ages. You could also argue that they need a strong side end if JFM doesn't fit there particularly well and a NT if Fatukasi leaves.

Then in general they need what every NFL team needs which is more depth to cover the inevitable injuries and talent wipeouts.

It's still a really heavy build at this point. If I'm the Jets I'm trading down a lot and making 12-14 picks in this draft. For those who say that many people couldn't make the roster: you're not looking at the roster with normal vision at this point. The roster blows chunks.

Don’t forget a QB, I know you’re not a Wilson fan. Going thru your posts, I believe you think the Jets need:
    QB
    RB
    LT
    LG
    C
    RG
    RT
    WR
    TE
    DL
    DE
    MLB
    SLB
    WLB
    SS
    FS
    CB
    K
    P
    HC
    DC
    OC

    Did I miss anything?

I think the Jets are set at LG, one WR position, RB by committee. I think they have a real prospect at LT who might wind up as a RT. That's the offense. 6 out of maybe 14 people, counting the 3 RB's in RBBC and the slot WR.

On defense I think they are set at 3T and maybe one CB position. They might be set at strongside end with JFM. That's 3 out of 12 or so (nickel CB being #12).

Everybody else either sucks or is entering dust on the wind mode as they age through 29.

This BTW is why we've gone 6-27 and why we've got a lot of losing in front of us.

You think they plan on playing JFM on the edge?
You think our RBBC has the right guys already in it?

    I can’t… I just can’t.

This is more realistic than I would have originally thought. I thought the fourth pick would have had more value. Obviously the draft value chart isnt the end all be all, but if we wanted to look at equal value, here's what we'd be looking at.

    Jets trade:

    4th Pick
    10th Pick
    69th Pick

    Jets Receive

    15th Pick
    16th Pick
    19th Pick
    51st Pick
    123 Pick

I think I'm still leaning no, but I dont think I'd be furious about it if Hutchinson and Thibideux are both off the board. Five picks in the top 50 is nothing to sneeze at.

There are two interior positions in the defense the Jets want to run. 3T and NT.

You think JFM can play NT? because I'm pretty sure the Jets don't want Quinnen Williams to play NT. That makes strongside end the likely destination for JFM.

That trade doesn’t work for me. I could see a QB needy team breaking the bank for #4 to be in front of the Giants and Carolina.

You want bold? I think we trade back with Denver.

    Denver: 4th overall
    Jets: 9th overall + #75 + 2023 1st

I'm kinda on the Sauce train too. If the Jets can address the safety position in free agency and maybe double down in the 2nd round with Brisker. Get Burks at 10.

Just quoting myself to say, after reading what many have to say about KT at the combine, I may have been too quick in posting my opinion on him. I don't watch near enough college ball so I'm easily swayed by others I guess.

Is your only hesitation on Stingley related to his injury history? He has the genes to be good, usually those players are

Sorry, I didn't notice where each comment was but they talked about his maturity level, breaking down film and a few other things. Seems like he is interviewing well.

It's really important in the combine interviews to listen for clues as to how the player sees himself.

When he talks a lot about I, Me, My Plans and doesn't talk alot about Team, My Teammates, Our Success, it is a warning sign that the guy just may not have a bigger picture of the world than the millions he is about to make.

Avoid those guys like the plague.
