The chiefs weren’t in the basement the same way the bengals were. It’s not the same situation as the jets.
Burrow before he got hurt didn’t look much better than Wilson this year. Chase made all the difference. Same thing with Jefferson making Cousins look like Drew Breese out there. A WR that can get open makes the QBs job much easier because they just got to try and look him off and hit an open target.
BPA is used as such a broad term but is so unbelievably fast subjective as to who adheres to it. Teams may add positional value into their BPA analysis. Or they might be dumbfucks like Mike Maccagnan when they spout it as a legitimate phrase. It should be tossed out in general discussions.
Ravens and Steelers build differently because they were never basement teams. Build it like the Bengals because we are in the same shoes. Once you turn it around then you can build it like a gold standard team to maintain success. Building it from the ground up they got it right so far.
Dude what? Burrow looked great his rookie year. He was on pace to more than double his touchdowns to interceptions on 65% while being under siege protection wise. 5/7 of their losses were by one score. He looked great.
I don’t think it was that much better than Wilson down the stretch. I’d have to go back and watch it to truly give a sound opinion
He was way better. It’s not a knock on Wilson to not have looked as good because Burrow is on the fast track to being a top 5 quarterback in the league for a good chunk of his prime. But don’t discount how good he actually looked. Either way, we need to keep adding playmakers.
Surely having a great receiver is optimal. I was referring to the touch that Burrow has on his ball. That has zero to do with the receiver.
I hear ya, but we have to assume we have our FQB. We don't know yet, but we have to assume we do, and start stacking weapons around him. If it turns out Z is a bust, then ya, we're on the Lions merry-go-round.
I think he looked great AND not much better than Wilson (post injury). The worst thing about the direction the Jets are heading: draft season will be way less fun picking in the 20s
I still do believe that we need a #1 receiver. Davis was a joke. Hopefully they give Wilson the weapons that he needs. A stud RB would help as well. I have pretty much given up on a TE, as the Jets can’t ever seem to find one.
My recollection was Burrows was doing way good before having his knee rearranged. That's why I thought for sure they'd go LT versus a weapon. But they crossed things up and went Chase. I'm sure a top LT would have helped too, but I can't imagine anything helping more than La'mar Chase has, so we agree.
Garrett Wilson in the draft is a good place to start and grab Gallup in free agency. Tight end we should address in free agency with Schultz and in the later rounds for depth. RB I like Jerome Ford in the 3rd.
