So a GM might do well with 3 players in 2 drafts, after stripping down a team deserves another draft is scary
How about I say no and you put me on ignore, have you seriously got nothing else to bother yourself about? There are words for people like you... PS for those that give a shit, I have used the word twice in a week and one other beginning with T.
Or he might not have as he is a right tackle There wasn't anything wrong with Becton's play last season, it was always going to boil down to health with his size and speed but then the Jets found a way to make it worse by changing the system to something that doesn't suit the player they just drafted with their #1 pick the previous season and let's just add in the #2 pick of that season as well and say what a waste of time they are going to be long term, top work tbh
Moore might be injury prone too, who knows. But Becton is like 400 lbs. Those guys always struggle with injuries
Hard to think of a worse scenario for Becton's 2nd season. -disciplined after 2020 season for being overweight -misses OTAs with a foot injury -shows up to camp out of shape & fat -beat like a drum in training camp daily -throws up on the field and gets pulled in a joint practice -plays 1 game, sprains his knee and doesnt return the rest of the season brutal
He did manage to do reasonably well in pre season and wasn't completely terrible like other linemen in that first game before the injury, so there is SOME hope, but this is absolutely brutal.
4-8 week injury. 16 weeks and counting for Becton. The fact that we even have to consider drafting OL early in 2022 is a disaster considering how much premium capital we've already dumped into the unit. What a disgrace.
I think I'm on the Hamilton train currently, along with us taking an OL or WR with the Seattle pick (or trading down). Move the fat man to RT and have Fant play LT. That'd be a decent OL. It's just tough because Becton is incredibly unreliable so who knows if we can even count on him to play RT without getting hurt. What a botch that pick was compared to Wirfs.
I can't see us picking a safety that early. JD got lucky once with Adams trade, no one else will be giving this much for a non premium position, and neither should we. We need reliable studs on OL. AVT could be one and Neal another. Becton if he plays well but keeps getting hurt, perhaps could fetch a pick in return, or if he stays healthy would be a bonus, but I really want someone reliable to protect Zach.
Adams was a bad pick because of the type of safety he is, not because he's a safety. Adams is weak in coverage and is basically an undersized OLB in terms of playstyle. Hamilton is the total opposite, a ball hawk who excels in coverage and has great ball skills along with a knack for being in the right place for picks. He'd be very valuable imo, almost as valuable as an elite CB.
That's true, he is not a great cover safety, but also part of it is that he is a safety. I would rather bring back Maye and get someone like Wirfs (i.e. Evan Neal) to pair up with AVT and Fant. Then between McGovern, LDT, Becton, Moses we will have some depth as well. And who knows maybe we can somehow snatch Linderbaum too to upgrade C and perhaps make a trade or pick a good WR. Basically, because of that failed first two picks in 2020 draft I feel we still need to address OL and WR as most important needs to give Zach a chance to succeed next year. Then we need Edge, but with first 2 studs now out of reach after beating Jags, not sure if there is a good pass rusher worth a high selection.
Bust. Time to consider resigning Fant and letting Becton play out his rookie deal til it’s convenient for us to cut him. Hated the pick at the time but rooted for it to pan out. It didn’t. So many other players we could have/should have taken did. But that’s what makes us the Jets.
Like that guy the Titans drafted, these big OTs get a big fat paycheck and bonus after playing football for 5 years making no $$$$....and they get fat and happy. Literally.
C'mon fellas, be honest now. Who among us though we'd actually see him play again this season? But your other point is spot-on.
Don't think we'll draft T in the top 3 rounds, but wouldn't be supprised to see us go after one later. Fants here next year as our LT insurance next year and that's one thing I'm really happy with tbh. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
