I predicted the jets would win 5 games this year and it looks like I am going to be off by 2 games. Anyway, time to look forward to the draft. As we all know the jets defense looks terrible. So my inclination is to stack up on defensive players and add some offensive players later on Here is what I would like to see the Jets do in the first few rounds. The later rounds is a crap shoot and I would be happy if we hit on some of the earlier picks

    1. 1st pick. George Karlaftis. So we all know they have probably the worst in the league but our run blocking is not much better. Here we get a legitimate pass rusher who has great technique, very mobile and has incredible speed. By taking a pass rusher we can cover up our abysmal secondary until we catch up with some better CBs. Teams can definitely camouflage their secondary by having a strong pass rush which is something we have been lacking since Joe Klecko. Runner up on this pick would be Thibideaux and Hutchinson both of whom will be off the board by the time the Jets pick

    2. 1st pick (from Seattle) No brainer Derek Stingley Jr. I know he has been injured but his speed (4.29), size and strength make him the #1 cover guy on a team.

    3. 1 s pick (trade with the Titans and give up 2, and 2 from Jacksonville and ) Jamison Williams. A product of Alabama which has a great track record on WRs this is another solid pick. Williams has tremendous speed and even better route running. This will provide Wilson with two legitimate deep threats that should open up the middle of the field.

Trading up with the extra second for a receiver in another deep receiver class would be silly.

I like the Karlaftis pick as I think he's by far the best EDGE in this class after Hutchinson and Thibodeaux but you lost me with the other 2.

If anything, we should look to trade back from one of our 1st's this year and gain an extra 2nd and change, not give up both of the 2nd's we have to move up for a WR.

I want the Jets to trade up to pick Evan Neal. We HAVE to give our QB better protection.

    Offensive tackle isn't the issue.

You're probably right. I'm biased. I just think this kid is going to be great.

From what I understand Karlaftis would be the best fit for the Jets current scheme. I say NO to Stingley - if they go CB I’d rather them grab Gardner.

This team can’t afford to trade up - too many holes.

On a side note they probably end up with 4 wins….

That's fine, but the Jets desperately need playmakers on both sides of the ball and taking ANOTHER first round OL is superfluous.

I don't want anything but offensive linemen and quarterbacks until this team is scoring 30+ points a game.

I believe that by the time the draft comes around Jameson Williams will be the first receiver off the board and if we didn't take him with our first pick then he will be gone by the time Seattle's comes around

Personally - based on likely spots - I would go:

1a - Kayvon Thibodeaux - a bit of the glitter has come off and he should be there when the Jets pick
    1b - Derek Stingley

In the second round get the best available center/guard and then look at tight ends and receivers

I'm passing on both Thibodaux and stingley. Thibodaux is an OLB , no pass rush moves, undersized to be a down DE.
Stingley numbers have dropped with his production ...look at his stats. Im wary of him, though he's got tremendous talent.
I like Hutchinson and Karafitas at DE.
I like the Iowa C, the Cincinnati CB , LOOK at his production, size speed, and Neal the Alabama OL.
Just my opinion is all .

Yes it is when our almighty mountain of LT cannot and will not stay healthy.
    Move Becton to RT

Okay. Move Becton to RT and keep Fant at LT.

Fant has been tremendous in pass protection this season but sure, let's keep dumping more valuable resources into the OL when this team is deprived of talent at every other position.

good stuff - I think everyone loves Hutchinson and Neal, a number of mocks have them as the first and second players taken so I doubt they will be there when the Jets pick - Ahmad Gardner would be good if the Jets decide to go CB - though CB is such a high risk pick and they so often don't pan out (especially when its the Jets picking)

I like Fant , but is he long term fix? We need the anchor. Fant is doing great, we need a franchise there. I dont have much hope for Mehki, they are doing a terrible job managing his career here.

Yea and how long will Fant be our LT. DUMPING RESOURCES INTO THE OL??
You must be joking, its the one area thats needed attention for YEARS...STILL not right. You only got to fix it right ONCE, to anchor it, something we have yet to do, right.
