I don't think so. This guy clearly wanted Lawrence, and definitely didn't want Wilson. He also thinks owners tell their coaching staffs to tank for the #1 pick as he blames the jets on not getting Lawrence on the Johnson's, which is remarkable in it's own right. So Lawrence could be 50 times worse on the jets now than Wilson is... And he'd be saying the same stupid shit like future HOFer, righting the ship, and having great poise. His take is only ground in bias, not reality. So when he comes back saying he gets killed for his take on Wilson.. for me it's not that.
I work with a midget. I’ve said midget around him several times not referencing him. He doesn’t give a fuck but he’s also foreign and the man so who knows.
There would be more preaching patience with Lawrence than there is Wilson because there wouldn’t have been any other option other than to take Lawrence. Regardless. Who gives a fuck about Lawrence? There was a MASSIVE uproar when the Jets beat the Titans in 2014 because we “missed” out on Mariota and Winston. Lawrence, Wilson and Fields all suck so far. You’re a franchise QB or you’re not. All of these guys are terrible thus far.
We had to settle for Wilson-- Every QB after Lawrence had massive risks and were going to be highly dependent on where they landed. This isn't just my opinion, this was common sense. Wilson, had the most boom or bust factor IMO of those remaining QBs. Very poor competition, he has injury history and only had 1 strong year--at the same time he has great arm talent. I stand behind everything that I said, however our difference is that you keep on insisting that I'm rooting for our own QB to fail....which is just silly but keep on believing that if you like. To your other point, yes I was pissed at our ownership for not tanking. Any competent owner would have ensured we got the 1st overall pick last year....just like the Colts did twice. Because they are a smart team that has competent ownership. Imagine having to have your fans endure a disgusting excuse of a football team for a year, only to throw out the 1 thing that would have made it worth it? We are a punchline for those exact reasons-- Having a big brand name QB also helps you get those calls by the officials that we haven't been getting. The NFL is a business, the officials are part of it. Do you think they care if Wilson is in the league in 5 years? However they would care if a guy like Lawrence (maybe Mac Jones) get calls, because they are brands that are attached to a lot of fans. You are evaluating this in a vacuum.....you can't do that in the NFL. If your judging this based off a stat line--you are missing the point I'm trying to make.
Lawrence again making Wilson look like an all pro. Future hall of famer righting the ship with poise. If you don't get it, then clearly you can't see it.
Nope, I actually think that was the only good news from today and hopefully takes some of the heat off our guy. I think Schotty is flushing his career down the toilet--doing this bad with an "unbreakable prospect" per a lot of scouts is a career killer. How do you think TL would have done if we drafted him? My personal opinion is LaFleur would have had him playing well.
He would have sucked. I'm not surprised you feel that way. In the slightest. Another creative way to shit on Wilson by saying Lawrence would be better with literally zero evidence to show he would from Lawrence himself basically all year.
You seem to pick a fight with me every week on this and that's ok. Right now, Wilson can't complete a pass 5 yards away. He looks like a QB that dominated against a cupcake schedule and is now a fish out of water because he is facing real talent and not some rando junior college level competition. Lawrence has sucked this year as well, no lie there. But I would still take his potential and resume, over the bigger bust potential of Wilson.
The one thing Lawrence has going for him over Wilson is I'm not sure if anyone could look good in the Jaguars offense. Whereas we know LaFleur's offense is not the problem here.
What I like about the Jets is the consistency - we had the worst rated starting QB last year in Darnold (rating - 72.7) and now we have the worst rated starting QB in Wilson (rating - 65.3) - different coaching staff, lots of different players, different QBs but the same results - weird
Actually, I see lotsa problems w/the offens but the thing is we don't know if it's LaFleur or the players. How many times a game do you see receivers within yards of each other? That should NOT happen. How many times do you see a defender lined up EXACTLY where the JETS player will end up running his route? That's Predictability How Many times do we see us abandoning the run? YOu have to run the ball...period. But, these are the thing that you'd expect when you put all this rookie crap in a blender and attempt to make something that actually tastes good.
You're ok in my book-- It's fun bantering about football together Especially debating the poise of Lawrence
Wilson and Lawrence competing hard for the worst QB in the league. Wilson can’t complete a pass period and Lawrence can’t complete a pass to his own team. What a disaster.
