don't worry we can pretty much guarantee having a top 3 pick in the 2023 draft (and 2024, and 2025....)

The good thing is there’s not much scouting needed for him. You just have to be even slightly incompetent to know that you should take him if he’s on the board.

    Late night mate?

It's not my job to take guys with 3rd round picks. It's Joe Douglas job to do that.

Not for nothing, you called him a great football mind when you were railing against me.

He is a great football mind. That doesn’t make him right about everything now does it?

You really carry bad resentments around here.

You blow like the wind. So he's a great football mind when you agree with him. Got it.

People who are great at something are right about everything? Sound logic.

is it too soon to start a Tankathon 2022 thread? Would be great to get the #1 pick and draft Bryce Young, though the Jets being the Jets we will win 2 games and end up drafting second that year.

Fuck the lions lost. I was hoping they would hit a hot streak. And seattle won. Bad week for us.

It was pretty unrealistic for the Seahawks to lose to the Texans. They get the Rams next week though.

Panthers will probably get smoked by the Bills, and the Vikings have the Bears who are playing tough right now.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if all 3 lose next week.

they should change the rules and not reward bad teams with high draft picks. Hoping your team will lose in December is a terrible fan experience

they could do what they do in other sports and say that the bottom, say, 5 teams go into a lottery to determine draft order so that there is a lot less tanking to get a specific player (a la the Colts to get Luck)

edit: and this would likely help the Jets as we never seem to land the #1 pick no matter how terrible we are!

I hate all the stuff our players and coaches spout after embarrassing performances like this. It's got to the point where I'm mentally adding stuff in parentheses while I'm reading/listening to it. This is what Sheldon Rankins had to say after the defense allowed Taysom Hill to run for a 44-yard touchdown on third-and-fucking-12.

“If there’s time on the clock and the ball is snapped, we’ve got to be playing 100 miles per hour"

    (And yet you weren't.)

"and guys have to be rallying to make that play,”

    (And yet they didn't.)

“At the end of the day, we just can’t give that up."

    (And yet you did.)

    "It just looks bad."

(And yet you keep doing it.)

    "We can’t give that up."

    (Again...)

"Guys have to continue to play through everything and continue to lock in as long as that clock doesn’t have zero on it.”

    (And yet...)

Looking like we should have traded up for Parsons and not AVT. I was on with the trade up. AVT is going to be 10 yr starter. But Parsons is just a beast. The trade up makes up for the 2020 trade down! That has turned out to be disaster. More picks does not always mean better!

There’s no way we would’ve had the foresight to put him on the edge like the Cowboys have. He came out as an off the ball linebacker and I believe he started the year for the Cowboys there.

But yeah he’s an absolute monster.

Unlike us, the cowboys have absolutely hit their last two 1st round picks. Ceedee and parsons will be multiple pro bowlers. We need to do same this year! We have Becton, Wilson, and AVT to show for last 2 drafts. Could still work out though.

They hit on a lot of draft picks. Jerry Jones is a buffoon who hurts that franchise more than he helps it with the way he operates and undercuts his head coaches. But Stephen Jones and friends are excellent talent evaluators.

This coming offseason will make or break the Jets for the foreseeable future. They have plenty of high picks and plenty of cap room. I can understand all the talk leading up to this offseason and even some of the excuses. But at some point it’s time to stop forecasting and do it right.
