I know, I know, it’s a little out there like how can the Rangers win a cup? But realistically, Shesterkin is allowing 2.05 goals a game, how often have we seen him give up 3 or more? Shesterkin is baby Lundqvist; I’m convinced the dude was built in a Russian lab.
he certainly seems like the real deal... and the way the PP has been humming... ( fuck off Nash you goon!)
This team doesn’t take shit from ANYONE. I feel like they get into a fight at the end of every game. I love it.
The 2021 New York Rangers should be "Exhibit A" to argue against anyone who says that changing coaches and general managers makes no impact to a team. Sure, Drury was smart enough to see this team desperately needed some sandpaper (duh!), but the guys who are producing this year (Kreider, Strome, Panarin, Fox ect.) are the same players who were on this team last year. What a difference a coach can make!
And while we are talking about the change on this team...check out Strome last night. Ranger gets blindsided..Nemeth looks to react but slowly and Strome almost knocks Nemeth down to attempt to tear the guys head off and starts throwing haymakers. I mean...the confidence is through the roof with the new guys on this roster that as long as they are there, others will put themselves out there with no reluctance. One of my favorite Strome moments.
When I first...first...heard Gallant I was like..ummmm....this guy might not last too long with these animals in the media. That has turned into this media keeps one eye open at all times when Gallant comes out for a press conference. Every single word he speaks has a meaning...every compliment has a reason...every subtle dig (and they are rare) has a purpose. How a guy like this was available just shows that a GM has to have a set of balls on him to hire this guy or has a ton of confidence in what he the GM does. And Drury is another one that could give two shits what you think. Its working as good as I could have dreamed. Your are dead on HSS.
There is no denying that Strome and Panarin have a rock solid chemistry. I mean. Panarin can make a paper bag produce on the ice, but what he and Strome pull off is amazing.
The coaching is a huge factor. However the Rangers also have one of the best rosters in the NHL right now. What happened last year was completely unexpected. It's like the Rangers were sleeping on their potential and this year it has started to bloom. The thing I really like about the team is they're not 100% there yet. They're still playing at like 85% potential. If they get everything going this is going to be a dynasty.
Watching last night, I gotta think teams are going to start blistering Georgeiv with shot after shot after shot. I’d make him stick handle on every rush down the ice.
i forget who said it but they were picking on Geoirgiev as one of the leagues worst... and now i see we gave up 4 halfway thru tonite... :-( dont kow if thats on him or???
3rd string goalie making his 1st start. If you're going to break a winning streak that's the way least likely to start a losing streak.
Tough outing by kid combined with so many breakdowns...shit happens. Lets rebound quickly. Trouba officially looking to lead club in goal scoring and punish anyone that decides to look at the ice...pretty impressive right hook...knocked off two helmets in two nights on two rights. Pretty impressive.
Teams coming off a trip from Chicago, playing a b2b against one of the best scoring teams with a 4th string goalie in his first NHL game in the pipes. Yeah, not concerned. Can't win em all.
