Wow, this is just not wanting to see reality. Being a rookie in this league makes a difference. That is why you do not see teams full of rookies and why FA's command big money. You can say it is an excuse or you can say that is why they are not winning. If the Jets want to win they have to 1. Acquire more talent 2. Young players have to develop. if 2 is never true why do we ever use the word? Players should be at their best as soon as they join the league and experience means nothing? (That is Bullshit). The reason we are losing is one small factor, we do not have enough talent on this team. 1. We have to acquire more talent a)Draft and free agency 2. Develop the talent we have 3. Work together as a team which is coaching and time. This is what happens with years of bad drafting, Bad free agents contract. Hopefully, we are turning a corner if we suck this bad next season then I will be right with you calling for Jd and Saleh's head. This season I want to see our young players grow so they are peaking at a similar time. I like the growth of Zach, Moore, Hall, Both Carters, AVT and how the line has jelled. All good progress and what I want to see this season. Next season I want to see wins with some key FA acquisitions and another solid draft. Winning teams have a combination of young and seasoned talent. Hang in their CMAN and have faith. The turn is coming one more win and we doubled the win total from last season.
So we have to live with the 2021 Sesame Street Jets until some undetermined future date when the lightbulb suddenly comes on, JD starts signing A-list FA's and we actually retain our star players.. 2025 or bust..
You seem....miserable. I suggest a fall/winter hobby that is more enjoyable than watching the Jets. Not being a dick either. It's not worth the aggravation they give you.
I usually have other things to do while watching the Pop Warner Jets play on Sundays. 2025 will be here before you know it..
My personal opinion is that you should be optimistic. By the time he saw the ball in the second half, he had sat for an hour, and went three and out, and the next time we saw the ball was another 15 minutes after that, give or take. Making up numbers off the top of my head, but I know I'm not far off. No way anybody can sit for an hour and then just get in there and continue where they left off. This is all on the defense and it's utter inability to get off the field..
I would agree with you completely if not for the fact that the defense was shredded by injuries. And that was AFTER we went in with a weak secondary and linebacker crew to begin with. Once the Jets decided to gut the team, they couldn't solve every problem in a year or two. JD rightfully decided to concentrate more on offense since this is an offensive league. The Jets hadn't drafted offensive skill players in a decade and let all of the defensive players they spent those big draft picks on walk. So what you're left with is a team that is improving and showing some hope on offense, and decrepit on defense after injuries. Most of the guys the Jets are playing are practice squad material. And no matter how good they are compared to the average Joe in public, they're just not good enough at the NFL level. Especially when they're rookies. So your point is valid in a general sense, but not in this specific situation.
Anybody who sees anything positive coming out of the 2021 Jets is addled. Seriously, this team is at least as bad as last year's edition and we're now working on two full drafts from JD.
Most of the Vets are on the offense. They at least have a clue what their jobs are. Why did JD sign DE Lawson knowing the guy was injury prone. Yes we have a practice squad masquerading as NFL players and you have to question the wisdom of the total teardown. Especially with a franchise that hasn't won shit in decades. So again, its another long Bataan Death March back to relevance if we're lucky. 2025-27.... #Can't Wait
Well, you win with good players so yes 2021 is a wash. The positive are the young players are starting to play well and hopefully will be the foundation. Now we just need more good players.
Thank you Cman65... I am with you. Sick of the lame excuses for pathetic competence in the CS and most of players. Enough is enough... I never thought I see this, but our new DC makes Kotite look competent, and our HC gets pissed at the refs but not his underachieving players? But hey, there is always next year and next year's draft, etc., etc.
It's not that the Jets are losing. That was kind of inevitable given where we were after last season. It's how the Jets are losing. This team has looked worse than the '95-'96 Kotite Jets for a lot of the season. That's why people are so upset. It's why the Jets can't sell tickets at this point.
Yes, no doubt have to question the wisdom of a total tear down because its success is based almost solely on drafting the right players and having the right coaching staff to develop them properly. Any significant missteps set things back. Bad drafting and poor development just continue the cycle - we just have to hope for the best! Lol I'm a Darksider by nature so I'm not very hopeful. I just got tired of always being so skeptical. I ride the wave of hope until I can't so I can keep my sanity.
