The excuses are the same. You need get off this kick. The team is just does not have the talent to win and the talent they do have is learning on the job. We should be excited about the yougins are playing.

We did not have enough talent to win especially on Defense.

This is my biggest struggle with this game.

Do we be happy that Wilson actually looked pretty good in the first half (for once? and really the first time?)
Or are we back to being #concerned because he pretty much buckled in the 2nd half?

As far as which to weight more I'm not sure I've formed an opinion yet. But I AM happy he at least showed a little something there. For at least 1 half he was performing as at worst a solidly average NFL starting QB.

crazy thing is the Eagles had only 81 yards but ran 24 plays…I’d have to look again but to have just 3 plays that quarter and the defense play the whole quarter to just give up 3 points…they played better 2nd half but they couldn’t get off the field. Coincidentally, I believe the Jets played more tradition 4-3 defense and was able to not give up chunk plays once Carter went out. Until otherwise I’m convinced this Nickel base just doesn’t work with this group of players.

A little irony here. Gardner Minshew replaced by Trevor Lawrence 16/28 145 yds yesterday. Goes to Philly and beats No. 2 the Z-Man.

Minshew should be playing here. Wilson could've learned a lot sitting behind him and he coulda been had for a 6th rounder

We entered this season with a new untested qb, an new untested CS, and one of the the youngest rosters in the league…. We were 2-14 last year.

Given the above info, what has “surprised you” this year?

Why do you need new excuses, it seems like the ones before the season started are still applicable.

Someone explains to me how the hell the Pats will be the #1 seat in the AFC if they beat the Bills tonight? I mean they have a rookie QB as well. WTF!!!!
What's wrong with our JETS? Why can't we get anything right for once? We had so many changes and yet we still at the bottom of the league.

So in this thread we learned...

    Coaches suck
    Defense still sucks
    QB probably sucks
and lack of Shake Weights made all the other guys suck

Bad team loses to slightly better team. I dont even understand what the thread is asking.

The Jets are bad. Bad teams lose to teams better than themselves more often than not.

When the Jets get more good players they will win more games.

I always thought Minshew was strangely underrated by people. He was pretty good in Jacksonville. Not great, but people used to act like he was the worst QB in the league or something when he was usually solid.

He's a genetic blend of Tyrod Taylor and Uncle Rico

He’s better than Tyrod and he doesn’t quite have the arm Uncle Rico had.

Bullshit... If they're old enough to be in the league, then they're old enough to play competent football. In your view, we have almost an entire roster full of children playing adult football. Nobody gives a fuck how young the Jets are except homers. The League is laughing at the kiddies and their HC while kicking their asses at the same time. If you accept these excuses, and you accept this level of ineptitude during losses, then I feel sorry for you.

Keep on making excuses for this sorry assed situation. IF and when the children finally learn how to play competent football, and when the CS finally learns how to coach/teach it, and JD learns how to stockpile a-list talent and operate like a big market FO, then MAYBE this team will stop being the equivalent of cheap toilet paper. Until then, enjoy the losses and believe. Selling the future is a formula that's worked since 1969.

I can tell you the "we're too young" excuse ain't cutting it anymore except with the homer contingent of Jet fans. I'd rather a older team that at least shows up on weekends than the Sesame Street Jets being the punchline every Sunday.

As Casey Stengel once asked: "Can anyone here play this game? "

So we’re going to find out next year (I’m not waiting three years if this shit) to know if the whole Pittsburgh Pirates style gut the team and play a lot of guys who suck but are young and have potential thing works in the NFL.

Does anyone else remember an example of this working out for the better? It’s usually near impossible to do in the NFL because successful rebuilds are done very quickly (Rams, Cardinals, etc.).

I'll be very concerned if the team isn't contending for a playoff spot next year. NFL rebuilds don't take 5 years. It looks like the 2021 draft is way better than the 2020 class even with Wilson being below average overall. A good 2022 haul means there will be building blocks for the foreseeable future. Will it happen? TBD.
