We just don't have a talented team. I dunno what some of you are expecting not were expecting. You're expecting guys who wouldn't even be back ups on most teams to do play beyond their talent. The defense has no insticts at all.
Yep, is having the worst linebacker and safety unit in the NFL an excuse? None of our safeties are NFL players, let alone starters
2 drives in finding out you have no kicker really hurt the offense. Defense was just bad. Linebackers suck, the short middle of the field was wide open all day.
I don't see how you can say that. The players admitted they didn't prepare for Minshew this week despite the fact that Hurts was declared doubtful all week. Saleh, the defensive genius, puts a defense on the field that couldn't stop Div. III Wagner College (who BTW were winless this year.) Okay, there's no pass rush, we get that, but how do you only rush 4 on 3rd and 10 trailing late in the game when you've got to get the ball back. P.S. the Eagles got the 1st down. Coaching? Nah, the coaching is fine. Late edit: And then there's the kicker. I don't know who made the decision to let Amendola go, but it's just another sign that this franchise doesn't have a clue how to run a football team. At this stage of the season, what's to be gained by releasing a rookie kicker for another untried kicker? Those two missed kicks never let the Jets back in the game.
it is a young team, I could be wrong but I believe (based on the play) that the average age on the team is somewhere around 4-5 years old
Zach Wilson didn't fall apart under pressure. That's a huge victory for the coaching staff because they were nearing the point of having to replace him if he continued to play poorly.
Not for nothing but we’re also missing quite a bit of talent on D with Lawson, Maye, Joyner, Rankins, etc. out today. Still a really tough showing for the D. If they’re even competent today, I think we would’ve won that one.
