Peter King said today that B. Schott may be on the Falcons radar for the HC job. His feeling is that the Falcons believe he may be able to work well with Vick. > found this on another fan site
Well,i don't think so,not this year. But,with the slim pickings at quality HC availibility this year you never know.
Heard they were also interested in Cam Cameron (SD's OC) Rich Rodriguez (WVU Head Coach) Bobby Petrino (Louisville Head Coach)
Going young is the new trend. I think signing more coaches from the Madden Football Generation will make the NFL more dynamic and exciting in the long run. The philosophy of "If I can do it on my XBox(or Playstation), I can do it on Sunday" is running rampant in the league. BSchott upgrades the Vick offense overnight. And while Payton and Mangini compete for Coach of the Year, it makes all the more sense. People who don't think it's possible are simply venting their displeasure with the thought that BSchott might not be around next year. However, when other teams are interviewing your coordinators, nothing can be more flattering about your program.
A little premature in my opinion. Alot of people are probably interested in Brian Schottenheimer, but the fact of the matter is he has less experience then Mangini. I think he could be a big name in a year or two.
I thought we would have him for at least one more year. By the way, is anyone ever going to give Mike Singletary a shot?
This post was a home run. Very well said, and right on the money. I'd hate to see him go, but we stole Mangini after one year as a coordinator. If Schotty leaves, you can all but guarantee Penny is done here.
He is coachable...he is just playing a position he doesn't fit. Very shaky unaccurate arm, only like 6 feet tall, and doesn't seem to be terribly bright. Not too mention he runs a 4.3 forty. He will never excel at any one position.
i said this a couple of weeks ago: it's a copy-cat league and young coaches' success (i.e. Mangini) will only lead to the hiring of more young coaches. it's not far-fetched based on age; Mangini is only 3 years older than Schott, although Mangini has a lot more experience and learned under the best. quick question -- if Atlanta or any other team signs Schott, do we get compensation since he's still under contract? and if so, what's the compensation? cheers
read this thread and you will see a lot of people who didn't think this was possible... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=14540
