My preference prior to the Saleh hire was Pederson and it still is. I think there's an outside chance Pederson comes back to coach next year, and I think JD would be a fool to not consider replacing Saleh with him if so. Pederson won a Super Bowl very quickly, he's offensive-minded and he's very advanced in terms of aggressiveness and using analytics. The consensus among Eagles fans seemed to be that Roseman was primarily to blame for their mess last year so I'm not concerned about that.
It was. The rumor is that Wentz and Pederson didn't get along much either, and that Wentz in general didn't always get along with the team, and that Pederson preferred Foles. Even though Foles won the Super Bowl and propelled the Eagles into the playoffs the next year after Wentz went down again, Roseman was determined to stick with Wentz because he was the one he paid more money for. I don't think Pederson would be a bad choice either. I mean, if we don't get any better, I can't think of a worse choice than the current CS.
Agree about FB Coaches being AH. Parcells used to workout in my Gym in Saddle River NJ years ago and while i can say he was never a complete AH, he was an arrogant prick but did talk to you so there is that.
Never thought I'd say it, but I'd fire Saleh and back the Brink's truck up to Harbaugh's house and give him the keys. This franchise needs the kind of scorched-earth shot in the arm that he would bring.
I am in the mindset if Salah goes then JD goes with him. And start over. I know, not again. But not working so far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I posted it facetiously. We’re not moving on from Saleh after this season, but he’ll forever be the best head coaching candidate available. He did just sign an extension but I don’t think he’d be opposed to a buyout if/when they lose to Ohio State again. The boosters and fan base there are already antsy about him. I’m shocked he’s still there actually. He’s made Michigan into a better program. They’re just not a great program like they should be and they’ve been held back by their lack of a good QB recruit panning out. I believe Joe Milton was the first QB recruit Harbaugh had last year and he sucked (3-star). They finally have a 5-star recruit true freshman waiting in the wings for next year to be his year to play I’d guess.
There is something weird about that guy. I thought he came over like a complete weirdo in that documentary.
Saleh will stay, give the defensive coordinator job to Bart Scott, I know it’s easy to be on a show after a game and talk about what is wrong but he shows a frustration the he will exhibit ti his staff and players. I believe this frustration will project straighten it out or good by, which is the attitude this team has needed for the last 11 years.
So what you're saying is that the JETS will probably be wearing really thick beer goggles when making their choice...kinda explains alot.
If the Jets fired Saleh, anyone with solid HC experience would be great. Harbaugh. Parcells. Pederson. (Shit, at this point in their rookie HC seasons, even Mangini, Bowles, and Rex weren’t this embarrassing.) Not to say that they were all that entertaining. Would hard pass on a few experienced coaches. Beyond the Jets ex-coaches, Kubiack, Del Rio, as well as Carroll. Would really want McDaniels if he would take and commit to it. Which he wouldn’t because he hates the Jets. Or likes easy wins.
I know it’s a hypothetical but there’s no way you dump Saleh after this year. 0% chance. If they lose every game remaining, get blown out by the Texans and Jaguars, and Saleh poops his pants on the sideline and throws it at a ref… that’s about what it would take to turn it over this quickly.
It wouldn't matter the Jets would be viewed as toxic and a career killer. No one would want to come here.
This is essentially where I’m at. Problem is - this year will be a tough coaching market for that sort of thing.
